Seems Equilibrim and Other Half did a collab on HDHC (High Density Hop Charge) Triple Citra Daydream, a 10.5% ABV Triple IPA.  They both did a version in collaboration with the other.  I just got in the Equilibrium one today and had to bring home a 4pk to see if it's worth it's 4.51 rating on Untappd.  It's freakin delicious.  Very bright and lively citrus and tropical fruit hop flavours just dance on your tongue.  And the ABV is well hidden.  This is a dangerous one.

Starting to see equilibrium out here now. Hope we see that one

Traveling for work this week and was able to swing by Tree House for a few flats for me and some buddies.  I grabbed a couple of their IPAs I hadn't tried yet - had the Beginner's Mind in a bottle last night.  It was excellent.

Got the Bourbon County Stouts in today along with a couple from Firestone Walker that I wasn't told about.

Got less than the previous couple of years.  The Cola Stout doesn't sound enticing and for it's price tag (around $25/bottle retail) seems a bit much.  That BC Reserve 150 is an expensive MFer.  Only got one 12 bottle case of it and going to retail around $40/bottle.  Damn.

The FS Walker series are usually very good.  The variety 3pk is a cool idea with 1 bottle each of the 25th Anniversary, Parabola 2021, and Stickee Monkey.  Only got 1cs consisting of 4 packs and should retail for around $31.  Not bad.  Probably better value than the Bourbon County.

Good to see the 150 bottles are put there. The blantons ones will be scarce

Freewill has a solid Ralphius lineup this year.

Yeah.  I'd take them over bcbs any day.  I haven't been black Friday beer shopping for a few years now.  Might go and get one of each if the lines aren't too crazy.   It's a brewery only release so we'll see.

Imprint Schmoojies are available in NJ.  NJ brewery Bolero Snort is distributing for them in NJ.  Guess they have a good relationship considering the collabs they've done together.  I have 2 at my store, they're expensive.  I made 2pks out of them with 1 can of each for $12.  One is Pineapple Upside Down Cake and the other is Strawberry Banana S'Mores.  Haven't tried them yet.

I haven't had any Free Will beers in ages.  They used to be distro'd in NJ by one of the wine companies who also does some craft/import beers.  Surprised they never caught on with another distributor in NJ to stay in the state, or if they do then it's only available in either/or Central or North NJ from one of the regional distros that have to stay within their territory.  Not all distros can do statewide.  Those Stouts sounds killer, though.

Speaking of Stouts, I had a couple big boys last night, each around 13-14% ABV.  First was Against The Grain's Bo & Luke Imperial Smoked Stout.  Supposedly aged in Pappy barrels. It was good, but was hoping for more smoke flavour.  Second one was another Short Throw, though this was a collab with Narrow Gauge, called Rooftop Money brewed with coffee, toasted coconut, vanilla, and marshmallow.  I liked that one better.  It was really good.

Also got another Bourbon County in today that I wasn't expecting:  Cherry Wood.  Got 2cs of that and it's more reasonably priced than the 2 other variants.  I'm thinking I'll have that Cola one left this time next year.

Imprint is always collaborating with Fourscore in Gettysburg, which makes great fruit beers.  I was in Las Vegas for the Eagles game and was telling a guy in a taproom about the wild flavors that places like Fourscore and Dewey Beer Company are making, like like a raspberry pomegranate chocolate pie beer, and he couldn't believe the drive for distinctive flavors.

I have customers who ask if we have the Blanton's or Double Barrel variants.  I tell them they don't even send ones like that to NJ and those usually stay in/around the Chicago area.

Opened a 21 bcbs as i always like to sample one fresh. Very good for its youth. Definite coffee/cacao flavors. Not that sweet.

Starting getting some Imprint out here somehow. Surviving Beautifully 4 is a perfect ddh ipa

So far I have only been offered their Sours, which are expensive.  I have had a couple of their IPAs that were given to me by customers and they were good.  Weird that they're sending IPAs out to the Midwest, but not sending them across the Delaware River to NJ.

Our best shop out here struck a deal with 12 percent apparently

Just one shop?  I know distribution works differently in other states.  12 Percent is out of NY or CT.  Their brewing facility is in CT, but think their main office is in NY.  To distro to NJ they need to get a license from our state ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control). They have a good thing going with their brewing/tap room facility where they let brewers without a brick and mortar building brew there then in turn do distro for them.  However, they really need to work on their customer service skills.  That's all I'm going to say about that.  They have loads of good beers to offer, but they need to work better in other areas.  A lot better.

No line of sight to the mechanics in indiana but they are getting imprint too.

the nightmare ipa with cane sugar and quintuple dry hopped is a tad odd and unique

Troon

maybe the best IPA I’ve ever had

Troon is probably the best brewery in NJ, too bad they're so small.  Pretty much the only (definitely the best way) way to get their beers is to go to the Brick Farm Tavern as they get the exclusive on all their draft.  Would love to see The Seed and Troon do a collab sometime.

100% best brewery and yes best way to get them is Brick Farm. I begged the bartenders and everyone in the building to sell me some…didn’t work…

They do can crowler (32oz) releases Fridays/Saturdays that they announce on their social media, but from what I understand is that if you're not within 20 minutes of them when they put out the announcements that by the time you get there it's all sold out.
