They do can crowler (32oz) releases Fridays/Saturdays that they announce on their social media, but from what I understand is that if you're not within 20 minutes of them when they put out the announcements that by the time you get there it's all sold out.

Yep I was in the Tavern when they released a beer and it was sold out in 45 seconds.

crazy

That’s just stupid - like why make your beer that difficult to get?

They're a nano brewery.  Very small.  I think usually what they can is only enough for about 180-240 crowlers and they have a 2 crowler/person limit.  The rest is kegged for the Brick Farm Tavern and it's a popular spot and since they have the exclusive on Troon's beers then I imagine they go through their kegs pretty damned quick.  Troon, Brick Farm, and the distillery Sourland Mountain are all on the same property.  Guessing they only have a 3 BBL system, 5 at the most.  Plus they are about 10 minutes NW of Princeton and 10 minutes NE of Pennington which are 2 affluent areas so probably have people who can afford to knock off work early Friday and hangout near the brewery like camping in line for concert tickets (showing my age here) and pounce when they start a crowler release.

Have only been to Brick Farm one time, in October 2020.  Need to get back there again.  Food was amazing.

Yeah - still dumb.  This is the best beer in the country, according to the twelve people that get to drink it!

Got a Prarie double vanilla noir today. Not as sweet as i expected but needs to warm a bit

Imprint Brewing Company really seems to be exploding in buzz and popularity in the last couple of months.

what i have from them is very good

the Double vanilla noir was kinda disappointing. not all that remarkable

Yards - First Draft Winter Lager is fantastic

I tried a marshmallow and coffee Stout last night... I can confirm I'm not ready for Stout.

Not sure anyone cares but Green Flash was recently purchased by Sweetwater. Perhaps we'll have a Boulder Brewing/Sleeping Giant situation where the brand is revived by a different brewer and we can see some Green Flash beers back on the shelves sooner or later. I know they pulled out of most markets years ago but they had quite a few beers I enjoyed like Double Stout, West Coast IPA and Road Warrior, among others.

Green Flash and Boulder Brewing are two breweries I haven't heard mentioned in years to the point I had completely forgotten about them.

Bump back to Page 1.

Tonewood's String Theory DIPA is excellent.  And Tonewood is doing a grand opening this weekend for their new brewery/taproom in Barrington, NJ, about 10-15 minutes down the White Horse Pike from their original Oaklyn location.  The Barrington location is much bigger.  They took over a former lumber yard retail store.  Been in the design and building stage for 2 years now.  I might go on Sunday, hopefully.  Funny thing about NJ beer laws is that they can only sell what is brewed on site at each location and can't transfer from one taproom to the other.

NJ is so anal when it comes to their brewery laws.  No food allowed (only if provided for FREE or can do occasional food trucks and order out for delivery from local places), only a certain amount of entertainment events (music, comedy, crafts, etc.) all because the big restaurant chains lobbied the state politicians since they see the breweries as competition instead of as partners.  To an extend I get since you can pay up to $1M+ for a liquor license depending on the town/area.  The more affluent a town the more the license will be worth.  Still, in PA their breweries can cook and serve food on the premises and no issues there.

Am now drinking a collab by Marlowe and The Seed in AC, Home.  It's an English Bitter and it's very good.  The Seed is smart and has done collabs with many other breweries thus far to help get their name out there.  They have done collabs with Marlowe before (owners of both are friends) along with Timber Ales.  They are one of the best breweries in NJ, IMO, though have only been open less than 2 years.  They do all sorts of styles from IPAs, Stouts, English styles, Belgian styles, and German styles.  With so many breweries being IPA centric it's nice to have a local brewery doing the gamut of beer styles.  I'll admit I've been on an IPA kick for a while now and though I do appreciate a well done Stout and Fruited Sour that I haven't been to keen on either lately, but I have been appreciating other styles like ESBs, Smoke beers (Proclamation's Memory Is Smoke, a smoked Czech style Dark Lager along with Von Trapp's Maple Rauch which was very good), and some Belgian Style Saisons (Stillwater and Monkish collabed on one that was very good).

Getting some good IPAs in next week.  The one I'm most looking forward to is Tox Brewing's DDH Angel's Trumpet.  Also Beer Tree's Fresh Wax.

Other Half in Philly should be opening soon as well.  Took over the former Goose Island location.  Would be great to drive over The Ben and pick up some fresh Other Half.  Haven't been to the city in a while.

How do the Iron Hill locations in New Jersey serve food then? Are they licensed differently or something?

They're Brewpubs and not breweries.  Difference.

Pour Man's Brewery in Ephrata beat out Fourscore Brewery in Gettysburg for best brewery in Pennsylvania after a social media NCAA Tournament-style bracket.  I am familiar with Fourscore, since my brother lived a block away from them for a while, so Pour Man's must be really good.  Is anyone familiar with them?

Never heard of them.  I've been to Fourscore before - I don't remember it being anything special.

Their fruit beers are great.  Their IPAs are not very extraordinary.  Personally, I think the best breweries should be good at making everything.  Ever Grain in Camp Hill makes great fruit beers, although not quite as good as Fourscore, but their IPAs are much better.

Some of Ever Grain's beers are available in NJ from the same NY based distributor that also has Other Half, Industrial Arts, and Toppling Goliath.

I saw Pizza Boy/Al's of Hampden on that bracket - I'm a big fan of them.  Their beer is pretty good, and the place is awesome.  99 beers on tap, from them and other brewers
