Some new IPAs this week.  First, from Abomination Brewery.  They have their base beer, Wandering Into The Fog, that's quite good.  I first got 1cs of their single hop varietal Galaxy, which I have yet to try, but stashed a 4pk for myself.  Then I was offered a mixed case of their Sabro/Vic Secret so I made a mixed variety 4pk of 2 cans each of them.  I just drank one of each and they are both really good.  I did like the Vic Secret a bit more than the Sabro, which I've only had 2 other Sabro hop varietals and both were really good.

While these are both outstanding craft beers the winner on the night, IMO, is local Bonesaw Brewing's Dum Dumz DIPA.  Bonesaw is pretty close to me in Glassboro, NJ near Rowan University.  It's a state of the art brewery founded by 3 surgeons (hence the name Bonesaw) with a huge tasting room, (with both upstairs and outside capabilities) that's like a ski resort.  Their head brewer is also a chemist and after one batch of beer had too much sediment for his liking he went to the owners and asked for a centrifuge to filter his beer so they were like "Sure, no problem, $20K for a centrifuge to make clean crisp beer" and this is what they do.  So Dum Dumz is their first foray into a candy-inspired IPA series.  Here's the Notes For Dummies version:  We chose America's favorite little lollipop - over 5,000 of them! We smashed them up and dissolved them into a double IPA featuring copious amounts of select Citra and Mosaic hops, then conditioned it on lactose and Madagascar vanilla to complement the flavor. With roughly 1.1 lollipops per pint, this hazy juice bomb is packed full of mango, orange, papaya and tangerine notes with just a touch of candy sweetness.

I had Prairie Artisanal's Sherbet Sour earlier tonight and Bonesaw's Dum Dumz outpaces it for tropical fruit flavours.  They made it work with the flavours of the Dum-Dumz lollipops along with the hops.  This is a friggin tasty arse beer.  These guys have set themselves up to be one of the best craft breweries in SJ and they're sticking to that plan.

Bonesaw’s stuff is excellent

From A Knight's Tale:  Days like this are far too rare to cheapen with heavy handed words.

Sucks I had to work on such a beautiful day, but since it's near the height of the Summer Solstice there's plenty of daylight to enjoy.  Perfect night to light a fire and relax and since I am behind on the new beers that have come into my store I had some catching up to do.  First up is Ludlam Island's Thickie Peaches & Cream, a Milkshake IPA with lactose and peach puree.  Wow.  Peach flavour.  Vanilla flavour.  Juicy hop flavour.  All 3 blended nicely together for a tasty treat of a beer.  Loved this.  Next up is Carton's We'll Walk In The Sun, DIPA with orange zest.  Very nice.  The nightcap is a gift from one of my good craft customers, from a DE brewery called Big Oyster (never heard of them, never had any of their beers), Dripping.  A DDH Milkshake IPA.  Really nice.  Damn.  Drinking it now and just took another sip.  Very well done.  Good stuff right here.

I'll snag you a Dum Dumz.  You gotta try it.  Not sure if they have made a Stout yet.  They do IPAs and German and Belgian inspired beers.  I'm doing well with both their Crimson Skull Vienna Red/Amber Lager and their Le Petit Demon Belgian Golden Ale, not to mention the Swoosh and Squeezins IPAs, which I know you dug the Squeezins.  Their brewery is top notch.  Like I said, they have money behind it and don't F around.  The guy I deal with is cool as hell, though at some point he wants to hire reps to take over for him so he can concentrate on the logistics of the business, but he's a great guy.  I love dealing with cool people in this industry.

What’s some of the best Haze in Delaware? Anything in NJ or NY you’d be interested in. I get a lot of Other Half/Evil Twin/Hudson Valley/District 96/Kane etc

no1birdsfan, see the above post/picture regarding Big Oyster.  Thoughts on a trade?  I can stop by the brewpub if you'd like different stuff from them.

Big Oyster has excellent milkshake IPAs, but I don't know if they're canned.

I was trading with a guy in Boise, Idaho, and sent him some Big Oyster.  They were maybe the best brewery in Delaware for a while, but Dewey Beer Company may have surpassed them.  Anyway, I sent him Noir et Bleu and a couple of their other beers.  He was very impressed.  Then he read a couple months later about Big Oyster on Beer Advocate.  They had been named 2nd-best up-and-coming brewery in the United States (or something like that).

What are the best microbreweries in the Denver area?  Anything along I-25 to Wyoming is fine too.  Also, what are the best stores in the Denver area to get a variety of craft beer?

Dont know if i would call Avery a micro but they have some good if overpriced stuff

Bought a six pack of UFO White, I know racist, won't buy it again. Tastes like a mix of blue moon and allagash white, which isn't what I thought I'd like. It is not.

My favorite bottle for a beer is Lucky Buddha. Don't remember the taste because anytime I've had it, it was after a rounds of sake, but the bottle is hilarious.

Don't ever go to Mockery.  For some reason they were a high rated brewery but their beer tastes like turds wrapped in burnt hair.

Black Shirt was good.  great divide sucked.  Truv was good.  There was a good sour one that escapes my mind.  Went out there for a big beer share with some buddies years ago and hit a bunch of breweries.

I'm reading that WeldWerks in Colorado is a great new brewery up north of Denver.  Any confirmation on that?

I can back that up, unfortunately I also can't recall the name of the brewery.  I heard a couple of my beer reps talking about it one time and the one guy was the rep for New Belgium which is based in CO and he likes Sours.  Seems that brewery is small production so to score some of their beers is rather fortunate.  Upon doing an online search I think it may be Casey Blending and Brewing.

One of the distributors has some of their beers and I have brought a few in.  Was doing well with a DDH IPA from them, but the distributor hasn't had it in a while.

I’m back to going to Vermont for the fourth. What’s a good brewery in Burlington?

Zero Gravity is in Burlington.  I get some of their stuff at my store and they've all done pretty well.  Conehead is their staple IPA and they also have a DIPA, Madonna.  I also started carrying their Green State Lager and it's been a surprising steady mover.  Less than 10 miles south is another one I've heard of, Fiddlehead's.  If you go 20-25 miles east to Stowe you can hit the infamous The Alchemist known for Heady Topper.  About 25-30 miles SSE is Lawson's Finest Liquids, another brewery I get some of their beers including the well known and renowned Sip Of Sunshine.  Another one just north of Burlington, just barely outside the city, is Four Quarters.  Looks like there's at least a small handful around Zero Gravity in the heart of the city.

Fiddlehead has excellent IPA and DIPA. Drank a bunch in boston.

new beer here from Octopi brewing in wisconsin. Belgian chocolate toffee vanilla stout.

The toffee flavor comes through very strong. Doesnt taste like 10%. Lets see how it warms up

That sounds rather good.  Haven't done a Stout since the weather warmed up here.  Though on a cool night one could be quite complimentary.

Feels like the chocolate is a tad overstated now. Drowning out the the enjoyable toffee on the finish

Just seeing this...we can work something out...

Brought home a variety 12pk from Jack's Abbey, Cut Through The Haze.  They have 3 single hopped German style Lagers in the mix and I just finished 2 of them while out on the kayak:  Citra Brau and Nelson Brau.  Pretty good.  There's also Galaxy Brau and Hoponious Union in the pack.  Also brought home three 4pks of IPAs I've had stashed and waiting to try:  Abomination's Wandering Into The Fog Galaxy, Hoof Hearted's 1-800-DoubleDouble-XtraXtra-FrootieFrootie-BiggieBiggie-JuicyJuicy (10% TIPA, this probably won't be 1 of the 2 tonight) and Lawson's The Space In Between Passionfruit IPA.   Will probably try 2 of them later tonight.

Strawberry Lemondade Sour from

Magnify. Awesome beer, for 11% goes down dangerously easy.
