You appear to be obsessed with identity politics. The relevant context is the crimes they were convicted of. Again, I’m glad it’s over with for her, but ignoring the context around the trade and calling it emotion is silly.

Jan 6 was an American president inviting a bunch of conspiracy-fueled goobers to the Capitol to stop the certification of an election, and with the help of Trump's tweets, escalated to calls to hang Mike Pence.  BLM riots are not a good thing. But no president said, "Come on down to XZY location. It's gonna be wild!"   Which is why one gets attached directly to a political party and political leader, and the other is just some general "the Left is bad" mantra.

You'll never get me to believe that. Trump led a violent revolt against the government in a desperate attempt to cling to power after he lost an election (which he knows he lost fair and square). He is now calling for ending the constitution so he can be installed as leader even though he lost the election. That's nothing short of tyranny and not even the most loony fringe democrat has proposed anything like that. Biden isn't perfect, but he's a normal politician and I'll F'n take that every day of the week over the alternative.

Doesn't seem like a good deal to me. I'm not really a fan, but I can't for the life of me figure out why Trumpbots would be up in arms over this; they're getting one of their own back! Biden probably mistakenly judged this as a bipartisan deal.

 

So what's the final consensus, better deal or worse deal than releasing thousands of murderous Taliban fighters and getting absolutely nothing in return?
