Throw in Hurts being on the team with the better record and 8 fewer ints, I think it’s Hurts’ award to lose. Yes, I’m taking Mahomes over Hurts as a franchise QB but Hurts has deserved the MVP if the season ended today.

The defense could be worse, but i think our backups - Dean, Blankenship, Williams, Davis, etc. - would be starters for a lot of teams. And will do fine when their roles expand. Obviously a lot depends on Howie, but my trust level in him has radically changed this year.

I also think it will be interesting to see who in 2 to 3 years steps up as locker room leaders outside of QB, since by that point the old regime will all be gone, Slay might be gone, and there have been some high end draft misses that will affect natural homegrown replacements. There’s some potential options like maybe Dean, maybe Epps, Sweat? But it appears as of now to be a downgrade of the Kelce, Graham, Cox, Johnson, Ertz etc mold.

Offensively we arent sure if Seumalo or Sanders will be back, and Kelce is probably gone next year. We have been extremely fortunate with overall good health especially on the Oline and WR positions. On defense theres a good chance you'll have 4-5 new starters, most could be 1st year starters or rookies. With a new DC most likely its going to be tough for them to replicate the success and health they have had this season. Everything is clicking right now and Jalen is taking advantage of it. Not to mention the schedule has been about as easy as its going to get. This is absolutely Jalen's best chance to get to the Superbowl and win it.
