I hope we can get by with them. Harris wasn’t terrible last season, but he wasn’t great either.

It's a bummer CJGJ won't be eligible to return until the Saints game ... would love to have him for Dallas.  Hopefully Blankenship will be ready by then.  :fingers crossed:

Save Blankenship and Goedert for Dallas.

Yeah, but can he carry the ball as well as Siposs?

On the play it sure seemed to me like they hit him out of bounds. No call again for us and once again our player gets hurt.

The dude is running up the sideline trying to get a first down. The players have no damn idea that he stepped out of bounds two steps ago. You can’t penalize a player for trying to make a tackle to prevent a first down. That wasn’t close to being a penalty.

He was out of bound. The second guy is the one who hit him.

Kern seems a good find.  Credit to the FO to find these quality vets on the street to come in and help, Quinn, Joseph, Suh and now Kern.  The personnel department has done well in the last couple of seasons.  Howie has a share of the credit, but the scout team deserves a lot more.

Sounds like Anthony Harris will be following him in the door.  Harris visited the NCC today and is expected to be signed.

Sorry he got hurt.  That was a great play by Siposs.  Saved a TD probably.

He should have taken the safety. Running it was far more of a gamble. And they scored a touchdown anyway, so he didn't really save anything.

The refs said he stepped out of bounds at the 15, but the hit by two players didn’t occur to about the 19 and he gave himself up and was going out of bounds (for the second time at that point when two Giants hit him. Should have been a penalty.

But the players making the tackle aren't officiating the game at the same time. They have no idea if he touched the line while he was tiptoeing it. From their eyes, he's charging for the sticks. They should be entitled to make a normal hit there. Which they did.

Actually, he didn't

He picked up the ball outside the end zone.  Didn't appear as though he had the opportunity to take the safety

He could have batted the ball back through the end zone, or failing that could have ran backwards through the end zone once he picked it up. I realize it’s such a bang bang play that it’s hard to process that in the moment, but objectively that would have been the smarter play.

Players not knowing where the are on the field is a bad reason for failing to call a penalty. The refs called him out 4 yards before he was hit. That’s when the play should be dead. Even still the player gave himself up by going out of bounds, but both Giants didn’t stop and lowered the boom despite that. The refs got it wrong and it should’ve been a penalty.

In this sequence of photos you can clearly see number 38 letting up and not hitting him understanding that he is going out of bounds, but number 27 and 28 are clearly not paying attention to the out of bounds lines. Later in the photos you see number 27 engaging with Siposs while he is already out of bounds while number 28 is actually stepping out of bounds to hit him again. The final photo you see number 28 taking a clear shot as the second player while he’s clearly out of bounds. Once again the refs blew it and we lost a player over it.

Agree with the above; but not so much on taking a safety. The good field position after the free kick often results in another 7 points.

If you look at the video, you'll see that really wasn't a viable option.  He did about as good as he could under the circumstances

There was a Giant very close to the ball. It kind up just bounced up right into him. He was almost hit immediately after getting the football. You’re right that he had little to no options there. Also what does the safety accomplish? They give up two points,  they lose the football, and the Giants likely get a short field. Turns 7 into 9 or 10 potentially.

Yeah I didn't understand why someone said he should have given up the safety. He made a very good play there and he almost turned it in to a first down.

Overthinking the process maybe. Unfortunately he got hurt, but maybe the guy they have now could potentially be better.
