Klobuchar is an abomination of a human being, and that will come out during a general election.

If Biden picked her, I'd donate to Trump.

Why, because she threw a stapler at someone?

tbf if someone brought me a salad with no fork I'd be upset as well

Vikas has posted on the other board a few times about Kobluchar and some kind of pharmaceutical scandal.  It sounds really terrible, but considering she'd be a VP instead of the President, I'm not sure why that would tip the scales heavily enough to turn to Trump.

Oh, I see.  I mean, every U.S. Senator has plenty of skeletons in the closet if you look closely enough.  Like dumping stock after they were briefed about the Coronavirus.

I mean, Republicans are going to bring up everything in Biden's past including his questioning of Anita Hill during Clarence Thomas' confirmation hearings.

Trump's going to have to run on his record this time though.

He honestly has nothing to run on.  He won't be able to tout the economy or keeping Americans safe.  He'll have nothing except the promises he made before he was elected that he still hasn't achieved (and hasn't even tried to achieve in some cases).  No healthcare plan.  No manufacturing boom.  Coal industry's still dying.  No 6% growth.  Americans out of work.  Debt that's completely out of control.  A wall that falls over in a stiff breeze.  He has nothing.  So he'll try to just tear Biden down the whole time, but that's gonna be a tough sell, especially considering, for better or worse, the country's going to be focussed on Covid for the rest of the campaign season.

Yeah I've got Harris.  Biden will win by being predictable and safe, that should be reflected in his VP choice.

She is responsible, at least partially, for the events that led to the meningitis outbreak at New England Compounding Center (NECC) that killed more than 60 people. Here is a recap of the NECC outbreak:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_England_Compounding_Center_meningitis_outbreak

Simply, NECC caused a meningitis outbreak by shipping contaminated steroid injections. The thing to remember here is NECC is a compounding pharmacy, so it wasn't subject to FDA guidelines on production and quality. Compounders were supposed to exist to make specialized drugs in response to a specific prescription for an identified patient -- making a liquid form for someone who couldn't take pills, as an example. But, starting in 2011, compounders started going hog wild and shipping drugs willy nilly, including sterile injectibles. See the 60 Minutes piece:

So, why did this happen? What changed in 2011 to give compound pharmacies a green light? It comes back to a drug called Makena, otherwise known as 17P.

17P was made for decades by compounding pharmacies and cost ~$10 per injection since it was off patent. A company called KV Pharmaceuticals acquired the drug, got a new Orphan Drug indication, and therefore should have gotten 7 years of market exclusivity. KV raised the price to $1,500 per injection. Is this disgusting behavior? Yes. But it was standard practice in the industry -- Jazz Pharmacueticals had been doing it for years. The FDA should never have granted the Orphan Drug status, but they did.

Unfortunately for the welfare of the country, Amy Klobuchar and Sherrod Brown, newly elected Senators, decided to latch onto this issue and score political points by PRESSURING AN INDEPENDENT AGENCY, THE FDA. She and Brown sent multiple letters putting pressure on the FDA (sending the letters to the FTC), which is insane since it is supposed to be independent.

https://www.contemporaryobgyn.net/article/makenas-fda-approval-sparks-applause-ire-then-dialogue

Thanks to this uproar, the FDA caved and decided to allow compounding pharmacies, which are NOT regulated by the FDA, to continue making the drug.

So Klobuchar and Brown win -- the drug can be made by compounders who don't have to adhere to FDA guidelines. And compounders take this as a green light to become MUCH more aggressive.

So, basically, Klobuchar and Brown interfered in an FDA regulatory matter to score political points. In doing so, they gave a green light to compounding pharmacies to go nuts and begin acting like real drug manufacturers. Since there was no oversight, this invariably led to disaster. The deaths from the NECC meningitis outbreak are on their heads.

Meh...probably being overly dramatic. But no way in hell I vote for Biden with that abomination on the ticket.

My best case scenario is I get to vote for Amash.

Good reason to dislike Klob - but the total sum of her lifetime misdeeds is exceeded by Trump in one day

Relax brah, I really don't think it's going to be Klobuchar.  She holds a vital senate seat that almost certainly goes red without her in it.

I may write in vote for @VaBeach_Eagle -- he gets stuff done!

Janet Reno persevered in the face of some of the worst stereotypes ...

Me. I'm your only hope at that point.

I did as well - it was my first time ever.  Not sure I will go that route again - although I may depending...

Bold Prediction:

Joe chooses amash as his VP, and they run together as the New Democratic-Libertarian Party and win the election unanimously for the first time since General Washington.

Don’t think she wants to be in politics but it would be hilarious just to be able to listen to Fox News after the announcement. If it did somehow happen Biden would win every swing state.

They won’t allow Biden to pick anyone that would choose a conservative Supreme Court justice in the event the Biden dies/leaves office.

I selected Kamala Harris. Her Senate Seat is the easiest to win by a Democrat.
