Hopefully we can handle the Bears without them…

Goedert I get. Harris I don't understand. Why bring him in if he won't even get any reps before the huge game the following week?

So I’m guessing they want Goedert ready for the Dallas showdown and they believe they can get by without Harris because the Bears passing game isn’t quite there yet. Giving both an extra week won’t hurt. On offense the backup TEs have been filling in pretty well so far. Last time when the Eagles signed Joseph and Suh there was a legit need to bring them in and help stop the run. This isn’t that situation for sure.

Extra rest before Cowboys game.

Hope he brings back the sick shirt game soon!

For @Portyanskyand others questioning why Harris won't play today ... he is more of a coverage safety.  On offense, the Bears are #1 in rushing and #32 in passing, so it kinda makes sense that they may feel Wallace is a better fit today (since he is more of a box safety).   However, I am surprised that they didn't at least elevate him in the event we are forced to deal with even more injuries to the position, but perhaps they feel that in a pinch, they can get by with playing either Scott (who practiced at S over the summer) or McPhearson (who saw snaps at S a couple weeks ago).

It could be simply they figure no need for these 2 to win the Bears game.  Let Goederts and Harris have more time to get ready for the Cowboys.  The back-ups get the "rewards" based on their pass performances and the chance to build on their contributions.

Short week, no point in rushing Goedert back with Christmas Eve around the corner.    Personally, I want him healthy for the Playoffs but I do think he needs some playing time before the Playoffs.

Eagles took a gamble and it paid off. Wonder if Blankenship will be ready by Saturday too.

At this stage, I suspect he sits unless he is well healed

Yeah I am hoping that’s the case though.

I'm sure Goedert was held out because they wanted to give him that time to fully recover. I'm sure if they needed him to go he could have gone but why risk it? And we won so it worked out.

It almost didn’t work, but in the end it paid off. I wish this game were an easier win so we could have rested players, but at least we didn’t have to go into overtime only to play longer and lose. 😂

Will either be ready this week? Wallace played fine this past week but can we trust him long term? Not that Harris is much better but at least he’s experienced.
