Washington game we learned we needed help to stop the run. We could have won, but turnovers. It was corrected. Today I think Hurts needed to learn how to play in the cold with 2 possible games at the Linc in January. But, the play calling was very weird today.

1 more win clinches the 1 seed. Only way Dallas takes the division is they win out and we lose out.

Yup

True.  Way way too many hits on our meal-ticket Jalen Hurts.  That has to be addressed & cleaned up.  No more turnovers, I hope he used all their turnovers for the season… so no more.  Christmas Day coming & more importantly, it’s cowpies week!

I said it in the game thread, the second half was actually pretty good, judging by the Elliott FG attempt the wind was gusting hard and given that, some of those deep throws were as impressive as all hell honestly, even a couple of the misses would've been called PI on another day.

Some of the playcalling was dumb though.

Very weird game. One thing I'm scared of going forward is the game plan and throwing those stupid WR screens that hasn't worked all year. They stopped running it for a while but they threw that in too many times. Quez looked cold af out there

dumbest thread in a long time

I think we spend too much time over analyzing everything this quarterback does. Maybe it’s a flaw for all quarterbacks who play in Philly. We spend way too much time looking for flaws than enjoying the moment. The Eagles are one win away from home field through the playoffs. The only thing I learned today is this team has grit and never panics. They’re really good.

Here's the thing... KC needed overtime to beat Houston. Dallas lost to Jacksonville. The Browns beat the Ravens. The Vikings came from 33-0 down to win. We played badly and we won. That's what good teams do.

Only lesson here worth discussing.

I agree but he shouldn't have had to "learn" the way he did.  Hurts' shoulder sprain is 100% on Steichen with his ridiculous playcalling.  11 carries for Sanders is inexcusable on a 20 degree, windy day.

For all you know hurts could have changed the play 10 times

I mean, maybe.  But I watched the entire game and don't recall him audibling out of the play anywhere close to 10 times on Sunday.

Hurts got injured last year in the pocket. So 1 and 1. crap happens.

Yeah, crap happens but coaches can decrease the probability of it happening with better playcalling.

Both of you a correct. Injuries happen and for a team that is so obsessed with trying to minimize them you would think they would do a better job protecting their most important player.

Agreed.  You have seen me say it, the Bears are dead last in sacks, pressures and QB hits.

The pocket would have been a very safe place on Sunday.

It's easy to sit here and talk about "ifs". If coaching staff didn't allow Hurts to be Hurts would we be 13-1? MVP talks? Open up running/passing game? It's a minor injury which if Cowboys won he would 100% be playing this week (assuming he's not). He was injured in the 3rd and still played. I think some fans just miss something to worry/complain about.

Exactly.  I'm not suggesting "not letting Hurts be Hurts".  I'm saying Steichen should adjust playcalling based on weather.  To me there's zero excuse for your QB throwing nearly 40 passes and having more rushing attempts than your running backs, in a game where it's 20 degrees and windy.

It's just unnecessary when your offense is loaded with playmakers, you don't have to put it all on Hurts every game.  It's harder to throw the football accurately and easier to get hurt when it's that cold and windy, which to me contributed to the injury and the uncharacteristic interceptions by Hurts.

I mean 3 carries for Sanders in the first half in those conditions, I'd love to know how that makes any sense.

I'm all for Hurts running through giant open spaces for easy TDs and being the option QB on run plays. I'm here for 100 sneaks a year because they are free yardage. I can also wish he would not charge at huge LBs and would slide and step out a bit more. I will never have a problem with the big play like that MNF spinner but taking on the tough guys 50 times a year is not sustainable.

This is not a running vs pocket thing IMO. Its about being aggressive but not being a berserker.

Yup, they learned this O is nothing without Hurts.

That and hopefully they learned to run the damn ball. But if they haven’t learned that by now I doubt they ever will.

Or that Minshew is so bad he can't even be a backup.

And that’s looking more and more likely 👎
