Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a Thanksgiving movie, but it's a classic.

Good list.   I have to put It's a Wonderful Life in my top 10 as well.  HOWEVER, to plays devil's advocate on that, I also ask, is It's a Wonderful Life even a Christmas movie?  I know it's considered a Christmas movie, however there's nothing even christmas about the movie except for the fact that it's christmas eve when George contemplates suicide.  I've made the argument to my wife (which falls on deaf ears) that you can argue that Rocky IV is more of a christmas movie than It's a Wonderful Life.

Also, 4 Christmases, one of my favorites.  I could watch that many times during the Christmas season, it never gets old.

10. Elf  Should be higher
9. Home Alone  I always forget about this because, recency bias
8. A Charlie Brown Christmas   Top 10 easily
7. Trains, Planes and Automobiles   I only saw this a few times actually.  I don't think this was a Christmas movie.
6. Die Hard  #1
5. Christmas Vacation  I'm burned out on this movie.  Almost to the point of cringe when its put on.
4. The Family Stone  Never saw it
3. A Christmas Story  Saw it for the first time about 5 years ago. Since there is no nostalgia factor, its not in my personal top 10
2. Trading Places  I really never thought about this as a Christmas movie until now
1. Miracle on 34th Street  Never saw it

Still part of the Holiday Season, but I guess I'll have to remove it from my list.

1.  Die Hard

2.  Lethal Weapon

3.  Everything else

I didn't put It's a Wonderful Life on the list because it's on everyone's list. I just think the acting in that movie drives me nuts. Especially from Jimmy Stewart.

A CHRISTMAS STORY - "Leg Lamp Delivery" - Fragile - YouTube

20191207912-christmas-vacation-30th-anniversary.jpg

The only ones I make a point to watch often are Christmas Vacation, Home Alone (1&2) and Elf.

A Christman Carol.  No one?  I love that story.  Scrooged I also love.  "B*& hit me with a toaster" is my favorite line.

Christmas Story.  "It's a clinker!!!!"  "You used all the glue on purpose."  Also, when he's swearing at the furnace. I haven't watched this yet, will wait til the 24th.

Christmas Vacation is getting old to me.  It seems to be airing almost nonstop this year. There are some classic lines in that one as well.

Home Alone and Elf would be my top 5.  I did watch It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street the other day.

A Nightmare Before Christmas is also a must watch for me.

2 that are underrated and belong on all lists.

Christmas with the Kranks

Office Christmas Party.

Daddy's Home 2 is funny.  Not very Christmas to me but it takes place during the Christmas season.

Christmas Chronicals is a very solid movie to put on with the family for Christmas of you have kids.

One that belongs on no one's list and is one of the most overrated movies of all time,  not just overrated holiday movie

A Christmas Story

1. Scrooge/A Christmas Carol (Alistair Sims)

2. A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott)

3. A Charlie Brown Christmas

4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (animated version of course)

5. A Child's Christmas In Wales

6. Miracle On 34th Street

7. Home Alone

8. A Christmas Story

9. Trading Places

10. Die Hard
