Darius Slay should be embarrassed to show his face!

Pathetic. You should never just let the guy run past you like he did. Blame goes to him and Gannon for that play.

Fault lies more with Gannon.   He can't touch the receiver where he was lined up... that's a penalty and automatic first down as well.   Play press on the outside, throw off the timing of anything, and give the pass rush a chance to get home.   Safeties play back 20 yards and make sure none of the receivers getting pressed have a chance to get over the top.  Heck even the old 'sticks' defense would have been better than that.

Scott was supposed to be over the top but he got caught up looking inside for whatever reason and was late. He's been abused whenever he's on the field.

This is also a gripe against Gannon. Without Maddox and CGJ our passing defense gets torched against decent offenses. It's just been less obvious because we played the Titans, Giants and Bears.

That huge cushion from Gannon and then Slay letting him by. Ugh

That's on Josiah Scott.

We forget that there are two teams with playmakers out there trying to make plays. Even the greats lose a play from time to time. Nobody is perfect except Carmen Electra.

I'm becoming worried that Slay's age is beginning to catch up with him.  He hasn't been good since Week 9, according to Reuben Frank's stats.

3rd and 30.

3rd and 30.

Surrendering a 3rd down conversion on 3rd and 3, 3rd and 13... sure.  It happens.  3rd and 30 doesn't just happen against a team.  It only happens when a defense goofs.

I hear a lot of blame for Scott on that 3rd down play, but what the heck was Slay doing? He basically ignored his assignment to try and bait Dak and he got burned for it. Scott had two assignments there, but Slay’s lack of attention caused that play to happen. Not to mention his stupid illegal contact play on 4th down to keep that drive going and ending up in a score. Slay was big mistake Slay against the Cowboys.

Slay's play has been going south the last several games. Something is wrong with him, but not sure what it is.

You guys blaming any of that on Slay don't know wtf you're talking. Slay was pretty much on a deep zone and Scott was supposed to be there for over the top help. If anything was thrown down low Slay needed to react to that as well. Watch the play, Slay didn't get burnt, he slowed down thinking he had over the top help. Scott 1. Was late. 2. Took a horrible angle. Learn football. And OP likes the big D.

Wasn't it on Scott though? He's meant to be the deepest guy on the play and he just makes a mess of it.

Scott is terrible. And they picked on him all game after Maddox went out.

Why does no one ask the coaches why Scott is still on the team?

I’d attribute that to both players. Why the heck is Slay not paying attention to the go there, but the blame truly lies on the DC Gannon. Just a terrible play call in that spot, and why in the world did he have Scott one on one all game? Scott on the play was responsible deep for both go routes. Bad defense overall but there was no one in the flat for Slay to worry about.

Might explain why Slay was heated on the sideline. Scott is complete liability.

You ever see Dak scramble or a rb squeeze out of the backfield? As I said, this has 0 to do with Slay, it was Gannon trusting Scott.

Blame goes to McNabb

If you look at his game play  lately he’s dropped big time in his defensive performance since the beginning of the year.  Like huge drop!  In the beginning of the year I could have sworn Gannon was playing the secondary more man coverage and now we’re back to last years soft zone BS most of the time.  I remember myself saying multiple times damn he’s got that playing up on the wr for once.  Now he’s reverted back. Slay looked like he was half assing it with that jog he had going!

I think they got fooled too. They most likely thought the Boys would throw short on that play, pick up 10 to 15 yards, and then punt. So when that didn’t happen, and Slay is looking into the backfield, the Boys threw deep on them. Obviously Scott was late getting there, because if he was there on time, it could have been an INT.

He hasn't looked like big play Slay for most of this season....not sure if his age is catching up to him or what's going on....but Gannon needs to go. 3rd and 30 and you play a cover 2.....smh, he is worse than gym shorts

The biggest scar should go to the defense in general, particularly the secondary.....might as well had Carey Williams and Byron Maxwell back there....

Slay didn’t need to react to anything down low.  There was only one target on the play capable of converting 3rd and 30 — the one Slay watched run right past him.  If Slay trusted Josiah Scott to make a play on the ball, shame on Slay.

He was upset because Dak and the Turds made him look dumb.  Giving up an underneath throw of 15-20 yards meant nothing there.  Giving up a bomb cost them the game.

Terrible lack of situational awareness from Slay.  He’s not a rookie like Scott; he knows better.  You could see Fletcher Cox on the sidelines basically asking him "WTF, dude?”
