This guy just has superstar written all over him. Dynamic weapon every time he touches the ball.

Receiving threat too.

would be a great draft for this offense as that element is missing

I like him a lot and would be an amazing addition to this offense.  Super versatile and explosive.  My only hesitation is the high pick investment it will take at the RB position and the $ it would take if he pans out (think Kamara) at a position that has a short shelf life.

If he could be groomed as a slot WR and RB and slowly transition to more slot reps to keep the beating on his body down then the $ is more manageable.  Having him with Smith/Brown/Geodart would be insane.

Declared for the draft today. McShay rated him as a late first round pick.

Only if he’s there in round 2. I absolutely hate the idea of using a first on a RB.

Agreed.  If we do end up using both of our 1s (guessing not likely ... I think Howie will want to trade one to add more picks), I think they are DL/DL or DL/OL.  Gibbs would be a solid addition in round 2.

They should really consider taking this guy.

Big play ability, speed and a receiving threat. We want Hurts to stay dynamic and a threat like this at RB elevates him. He can run slightly less next year.

Keep this offense elite, it can really be special for years to come

I agree they need to focus on the DL but let’s not reach and draft another Marcus Smith, while passing on a guy who I think is the next Alvin Kamara (in his prime). I really think Gibbs is going to be a superstar.

That’s the problem… The "in his prime” portion is generally incredibly short for running backs. You can get a mid-round RB behind a good OLine and you’ll have a good running game. No sense in using a first to get a guy for a few good years (which are likely to be injury-riddled) when you can get a player that could potentially fill a position for 8+ years.

But Gibbs is a special player (think faster Alvin Kamara)

Brown, Smith, Goedert, Gibbs and duel threat Hurts on offense… You’re looking at 30 pts a game, every game.

With Miles likely to go  elsewhere this off season, I quite like the idea of Gibbs with our 2nd pick following a trade down.

Something like taking him in the top 10 picks of 2nd round after we have added a mid round pick.

I would normally agree with you about RB’s but I just think he would be such a great fit. This is a win now team and I always want to draft the BPA (within reason). The offense would be unstoppable with a weapon like Gibbs at RB. Sanders is ok but doesn’t have breakaway speed and he’s not a pass catcher. Could you imagine using Gibbs in the screen game like we used Westbrook? How would defenses defend that?

Sanders was a receiving threat coming out of college; Gainwell was an accomplished pass catcher coming out of college… Gibbs makes sense if the offense here evolves to use RBs more in the passing game. My suspicion is that since the RB is often tied to the mesh/RPO, they don’t get the best opportunities to run routes and the screen game is less compatible.

I've see quite a few mocks having Gibbs go to us at 31

This. The RPO offense isn’t the offense that can fully optimize a pass catching RB so I think that skill set would be largely wasted here. At some point, there’s honestly not enough footballs to go around between the receivers, Goeddert, and the RPO to use a 1st on a RB. Especially when they’ll have several starter positions to replace from free agents and retirees and when RB’s like Devon Achane and Sean Tucker will be available in mid rounds

While the Eagles should be looking to upgrade the running game, Gibbs is not they type of back they need.  Every game I watched this year I saw a corner freak with little to no success running between the tackles.  Unfortunately corner freaks freaks don't fair well in the NFL, it's usually a 1 - 2 yard after being forced out of bounds.

The Eagles need a strong runner between the tackles with good vision, balance, and tackle breaking ability, sorry to say, that ain't Gibbs.

Sounds like the Eagles need Bijan 😁

I see a guy who uses the whole field and isn’t afraid to cut it inside or outside. He’s just looking for a hole to hit.

I don't care for him either, my reasoning is in his post, I think Charbonnet is the back they need.

Highlights can be very misleading and the above is a  perfect example, did you notice he barely got touched in those highlights?  You see, any back can run through a hole big enough to the point where no one makes contact with him.

You want to look for backs that doesn't back down from contact and what they do after they're contacted, I can tell you now, Gibbs backs down from contact, he's turn a corner freak, a corner that he won't get in the NFL.

Why do you think 'Bama had a down year?  I saw a sub-par running game led by Gibbs.  DO NOT WANT!!

Of course highlights can be misleading but I’ve seen him play a bunch of times and I’ve been impressed every time. Also, I wouldn’t blame him for Alabama’s down year, that’s not fair at all.

Agree with on these two. I’d rather spend a 2nd on Charbonnet than a 1st on Bijan.
