I'm in the process of adding a new feature to the boards. The format of what that feature will take is still kind of up in the air and will depend on what everyone likes best ... or I can keep both styles. 

A bit more can be added, like more Twitter feeds, or different ones... or fewer can be included. I can also increase or decrease the number of board topics and which forums they display from. I can even add a poll and various other things. 

Where can you find this new feature? Well, for the moment, it's in the 'Browse' tab, near the top of the forum (under the logo).

2 is way more clean, imo

Yeah I like 2 better with the scroller on the right.

I agree, so I've set it as the less cluttered version. Both links still work, but only the less cluttered one is in the menu, now.
