NFL may not be able to make up Bills-Bengals due to a Home Show at US Bank Stadium (Minneapolis) Feb 3-5

This may be why they NFL may not be able to reschedule Bills-Bengals to a standalone Week 19 and delay the postseason a week: https://www.usbankstadium.com/events/detail/mpls-home-remodeling-show-2

The home show noted I believe is one of the biggest in the entire country and is scheduled to take place at US Bank Stadium (Vikings Home) the weekend of February 3-5.  That would be when if the postseason was pushed back a week, the rescheduled conference title games would be played.  The Vikings could be in a position to host the NFC Championship Game IF the Eagles, 49ers or Cowboys (whoever is the 1 seed) is eliminated in the Divisional Playoffs and the Vikings as the 2 seed made the NFC Championship.  I suspect Home Show officials have already informed the NFL they would file a 9+ figure lawsuit if the NFL made them postpone that show (which affects numerous other home shows in the mid-west that would be dealing with ripple effects as some of those would ALSO have to postpone from whatever date a US Bank Stadium Home Show is rescheduled for) looking for massive damages if they were forced to reschedule to accommodate an NFC Championship game in that scenario that the NFL would not want to have to play at Huntington Bank Stadium (University of Minnesota Home Field) in potentially frigid conditions nor would I think the University of Minnesota would want the NFC Championship Game moved there.   That would explain why the NFL may not be able to make up Bills-Bengals.

And now

It looks like the NFL could not reschedule BUF-CIN that would not open up the NFL to lawsuits if it happened the Vikings wound up in a situation where they were hosting the NFC Championship Game.

Rescheduling BUF-CIN would have left the NFL with a ton of undesirable options due to a Home Show that is I believe the largest in the country that is scheduled for US Bank Stadium (Vikings home stadium) the weekend of February 3-5 when rescheduled conference title games would take place. Forcing that home show to postpone to a later date likely leads the NFL to be sued by such organizers for $1 Billion+ as it would not be just THAT Home Show suing, but also other Home Shows that would find themselves having to reschedule as well as a ripple effect of the show in US Bank Stadium having to be rescheduled for the NFC Championship Game: https://www.usbankstadium.com/events/detail/mpls-home-remodeling-show-2

The only way the NFL would have been able to reschedule BUF-CIN without the possible threat of lawsuits from Home Show officials would have been to have that game next Friday (1/13), then spread out the Wild Card round over 5-6 nights the week of January 15-20, then have the Divisional Playoffs over Monday-Thursday, January 22-25 with the NFC Championship Game on Wednesday, Februrary 1 and the AFC Championship Game on Thursday, February 2. That likely then leads to all kinds of other problems with the NFL's broadcast partners because of there being playoff games virtually every night for two weeks, hurting some stations with local news considerably in some cases (especially ABC affiliates). That is why the NFL had to do it as they did.

A home show :roll::roll::roll::roll::roll: C'mon @Wallyhorse, if the NFL wanted to move that, it would be moved.

But you are forgetting the most important part, the Vikings in the conference title game :roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:

Clearly you have no clue as to how big some of these shows are:

The one at US Bank Stadium I believe is the biggest in the entire country (and uses the entire floor of US Bank Stadium). Moving that home show to a later date creates a massive ripple effect as other home shows subsequently have to then be moved to new dates because of the US Bank Stadium show being moved.  That then causes smaller shows to also have to be moved to other dates or outright be canceled.  That's what the NFL would risk causing and wind up being sued for $1 Billion+ over it.

And as for the Vikings, right now it's unlikely but what happens if the Vikings win their playoff games while the Eagles/Cowboys and 49ers are ousted before the Championship Game?  Then the Vikings would be hosting likely the NFC East loser in the NFC Championship Game and that's where the legal problems are.

The game is officially canceled, so it's a moot point.

Actually, what I wrote is WHY it was not being made up.  NFL otherwise was risking a scenario where "doing the right thing" (making up BUF-CIN) would have potentially resulted in the NFL fending off a $2 Billion+ lawsuit at the hands of Home Show officials if it happened the Vikings made the NFC Championship Game with that February 4 or 5.

Good grief, @EagleJoe8 this is a good one lol.

It's also Grammys weekend but I would have had the conference title games Saturday 2/4 regardless due to wanting to give coaches an extra day to prepare for the Super Bowl.

NFL was likely facing several BILLION in lawsuits from several different interests if the NFL had "done the right thing" and rescheduled BUF-CIN, delaying the playoffs a week and putting the conference title games Saturday 2/4.  If the AFC Title game winds up at MetLife Stadium (making it a defacto home game for the Bills), the NFL would IMO be apologizing to the Bills without actually doing so and basically saying the NFL faced a slew of lawsuits if the NFL had rescheduled BUF-CIN just to give the Bills a fair shot at home field.
