EAGLES DIVISIONAL ROUND PFF GRADES: DALLAS GOEDERT WREAKS HAVOC ON GIANTS SECONDARY; HAASON REDDICK LEADS THE WAY DEFENSIVELY

Saturday night, the Philadelphia Eagles reminded the entire league who the top dog is, dominating the New York Giants 38-7 in a game that was never even close.

From the opening drive, the Eagles were off to the races.

The ground game paved the way offensively. Philly managed to rack up 268 rushing yards on the night, the most any Giants team has ever surrendered in the postseason. Three different players found the end zone on the ground as well – Jalen Hurts, Boston Scott, and Kenneth Gainwell.

Hurts looked like his normal MVP self once again, completing 16-of-24 passing attempts for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Dallas Goedert and DeVonta Smith were his go-to targets throughout the night. The receiving duo combined for 11 catches, 119 yards, and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, Jonathan Gannon’s group held the Giants in check all night. QB Daniel Jones couldn’t get anything going and their ground game was essentially non-existent.

What a night.

As we do after every Birds game, let’s take a look at how Pro Football Focus graded the Eagles performance.

Dallas Goedert, Kenneth Gainwell, and Jordan Mailata lead the way offensively

Goedert was the bane of the Giants existence all game long. He finished the night with five receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown.

In the end, TE1 was the highest graded player on the Eagles offense, earning an 86.8 overall grade along with an 88.7 receiving grade.

Behind Goedert, we have Kenny Gainwell, who posted career numbers in his first home postseason game in Philly. The second-year back tallied 112 rushing yards on just 12 attempts (9.3 YPC), including this 35-yard scamper to put a bow on the dominating victory.

Gainwell’s 100-yard performance was the first 100-yard rushing performance an Eagles back has had in the postseason since Brian Westbrook did it in 2006.

Gainwell finished the night with an overall grade of 79.8, along with a 74.2 receiving grade and a 78.6 rushing grade.

Rounding out the top-three for the Eagles offense was Jordan Mailata, who earned a 76.0 offensive grade and an 83.5 pass blocking mark.

The Eagles offensive line controlled the game from start to finish

The proverbial game ball for last night’s win has to go to the big guys up front. They absolutely dismantled the Giants front-four the entire game. Jason Kelce was tossing 300-pound men with one arm, Lane Johnson looked completely healthy. It was a sight to behold.

Kelce, Johnson, and Mailata all posted grades of 72.0 or higher. And each starter, aside from Isaac Seumalo, posted a pass blocking grade of 80.0 or higher.

Jeff Stoutland’s crew surrendered just two hurries and two pressures on Hurts. New York did manage to tack on a sack, but it was not credited to any of the Eagles linemen.

While the three-headed monster of Sanders, Scott, and Gainwell all had their moments, the offensive line was the real MVP of the ground game Saturday night. They opened up gaping holes for the backs to run through and made life miserable for New York.

By the fourth quarter, it didn’t even look like the Giants were trying anymore. They had enough.

PFF grades for the entire Eagles offense

Haason Reddick, Kyzir White, and Brandon Graham lead the way defensively

The Eagles pass rush came out in full force Saturday night, thanks in large part to Haason Reddick.

He was all over the field, racking up five combined tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three quarterback hits. The Eagles edge rusher finished the night as the highest graded played on Gannon’s defense, earning an 89.7 overall grade, along with an 84.1 run defense mark and a 75.2 pass rushing grade.

Reddick wasn’t the only pass rusher getting after it either. Brandon Graham finished the night with an overall grade of 76.8 and a team-best 81.7 pass rushing grade. He, Reddick, Fletcher Cox, and Josh Sweat all managed to tally a sack on the night.

LB Kyzir White posted high marks as well, earning a 78.3 defensive grade and an 81.7 coverage grade.

James Bradberry, CJ Gardner-Johnson, Darius Slay, and Fletcher Cox all posted grades of 70.0 or higher Saturday night.
