July 22, 20205 yr Was a BIG Chip supporter from the jump. I bought into everything. I still think a lot of what he was doing was cutting edge, and don’t sleep on Howie’s Machiavellian BS behind the scenes to undermine him, but end of the day Chip’s an a-hole, evidently. Hard to make that work.
July 22, 20205 yr I loved Chip's first year with the Eagles. The NFL needed some new juice and he provided that. Where he fell down was personnel decisions. Oh, and being an a-hole.

Oh, and being an a-hole. Chip failed by thinking he could run the same 4 to 5 plays all game over and over and thinking the other team wouldn't figure out what was coming. I could tell what the play was every time based off the HB and slot line up presnap. If a grunt like me could figure it out, the other team could as well. I still remember after they were crushed by the Bucs in Chips last year. The defensive players after the game said they knew the play before the QB even snapped the ball. Maybe that's why they threw 3 picks and lost 45-17 to a crap team.

That philosophy worked just fine... for the first half of his first game vs. the Redskins. By the second half, they started figuring him out.

It seemed like when the NFL took away his sideline card show, the whole scheme fell apart because he had to actually become a NFL coach.
