A healthy Becton can flip that narrative in a sneeze.

If we pretend he was good in 2021, or are we pretending he's magically good in 2023?

He looks like he’s sharpened himself up in NY… Last year in GB he looked like a homeless person but now he looks like he’s ready for a comeback.

There's actually a strong push to make them legal

Rogers just admitted to using a drug that is illegal, yet he's supposedly routinely drug tested.  What's the real story here?  Are we enforcing these rules or not?

Only for things that cost the league money like gambling.

This is the way drugs work in pro sports. Stupid people get popped for drugs. You get tested on the way in maybe at the start of camp and randomly during the season. You can take all the drugs you want in the offseason as long as you detox ahead of that first test.

Its why Bernard Williams is one of the biggest morons in the history of the planet. He could have played 4 or 5 years, saved his money, moved to Jamaica and smoked like a Marley. Instead he got popped twice on the way in and never got paid outside of his rookie year. He spent 5 or 6 years playing in Canada and other secondary leagues for peanuts.

Just FYI on Rodgers: If he is done the Jets need him to pretend he is not done until the start of the next league year so he can retire then and push the dead cap to 2025.

That would save the Jets 49 million in dead cap in 2024 (they would take 17 in 2024 and 49 in 2025 instead of 66m right away)

Brees had to do something similar in 2021 although he did not do the pretending part, he just waited to retire until the new league year.

Pretending he is working his way back also gets all the media that routinely sniff his butt to worship him even when he is not playing.

Later on they can write about his noble fight against father time and injury coming up just short.

As far as I can tell the Jets paid him a 35 million bonus and then another 35 million with the restructure. He would play next year for about 3 million in new money. Good luck with that.

As always, Playoff Wins since 2017:

Mahomes 11

Brady 10

Foles 4

Bortles 2

Rodgers 2

I am a little confused -- in the 2021-2022 season alone, Matt Stafford had 4 playoff wins and Joe Burrow had 3.  Lots of other QBs have had at least 2 since 2017 (e.g., Hurts).  Not sure what the point of that is, but it seems incomplete and misleading at best.
