I don't.

Yeah. Because you think DeVonta Smith is a #3 WR.

Actually it's because we're have salary cap issues with many holes to fill, this is caused by bad drafting coupled with the need to turn to FA to fill the many holes.

Difference makers in the secondary aren't easy to find. Keep him.

As @NOTW posted. Next year should be CB1 - Slay, CB2 - Draftee, CJGJ, and Blankenship at the Safeties. I like Maddox in the slot too.

Yup. I also don't like the depth. Need to DRAFT some talent to develop in the secondary.

Agreed.  I would not be against a draft that netted multiple DBs, with at least one of them being in the first or second round.  Yet another reason why a trade back from one of those first rounders makes sense, without a ton of picks currently it would be nice to add some middle round selections

Good. Although it probably means Bradberry is gone.

Definitely.

Pick one of the two. Im going younger & just as talented & likely will get better.

Maddox and Slay were the biggest defensive screw ups in the Superbowl, they should be looking to move on from both. Slay should be June 1st ed to free up cap space to try and bring back Bradberry.

Given that Slay is well liked, a captain and did play well this season I doubt we got the balls to do that.

It might be the best path for us though.

I think Slay's post June 1st hit is still over 8M. One more year with him is almost a must given the cap situation. Adequately replacing Bradberry and Maddox is asking a lot with all of the other holes on the team. I think they can replace one but not both. I guess we'll see.

They aren't moving on from Slay or Maddox. Maddox had surgery I think after.  These are overreactions.

CJGJ hits like a mutha Fka. Keep him at all costs. Might draft a CB at 10... would be a miracle, but juuuust maybe...

Maddox has always been a screw up, I'm surprised so many think he's good at his job, the guy makes one decent play and 4 horrible plays with him running around like a headless chicken makes him far from good........and then there's the Maddox at S foolishness.

He's a guy whos reputation grows every time he's injured because the people behind him on the depth chart are even worse, doesn't make him any good though.

The coverage screw up on the Toney Superbowl TD  is abysmal Maddox and Slay both bite on the most basic motion and end up leaving Kelce and Toney open, it's amateur hour.

Witherspoon is the only guy I’d even consider there though. I don’t love this CB class.

He has a history of being a locker room problem when he isn't happy.  I don't think the tag is going work out with him.

If he’s tagged, I’m guessing it’s just to hold onto him while they continue to negotiate a new deal. I doubt that they go into the season with him on the franchise tag. He seems to want to be here and the team is reportedly making it a priority to keep him. I’m confident they’ll get something worked out.

That's a lot, but how much is it worth for him not to be a liability. Also, that video posted last night talked about him being absolutely wrong for the scheme that is coming in. They may have to suck it up and go with a rookie the way the Chiefs did last year to make up for it.

Pay the man. Bradberry & Epps leave, start CJG & Blankenship. Draft a corner high to replace Bradberry. Secondary remains strong.

Unless Howie outsmarts himself again and takes Sidney Jones version two.

His dead cap on a post June 1st would be $8million but frees up $17million of cap space (His cap number next year is ridiculous), that's why I think he's gone because he's too old as a corner to restructure and he was not good down the stretch this year.

You're not supposed to use curse words on this board...;)

You may well be right. Time will tell.

By most accounts, this year's crop of CB prospects doesn't look stellar. It's going to be hard to get 2 starters in the draft. I can't think of any UFA's who are better and cheaper. Howie has a challenge in front of him either way. Maybe he can work a trade. It'll be interesting to see the solution put in place.

This class has 3 legit CBs whom the Eagles could and should target with their first pick.

We can't afford Bradberry even if we move on from Slay. He's going to get a very healthy contract.

I like Witherspoon and that’s it.
