So, the case that comes with it,  I didnt realize you choose between a kickstand, or the S pen holster.

It comes with both, and you attach the one you want.

I am sans S pen. Is ridiculously huge. I wanted the case to be flatter.

Phone is cool.  I don't mind the crease one bit.

I just got my shipping info this morning. Coming fedex sig required. Is that how yours came and did they drop it off or were you home to receive it?

Came FedEx.

My wife was home to sign.

In the past if I'm not home I have hung a sign on the door saying please accept as my signature for delivery, and I sign it.

That has worked before.

Dont know about you @BFit but Im going with no protection on the inside (big screen).

I saw things in previous models where people tried peeling off what they thought was protective film from the factory, and ruining their screen, as that was a component of the screen itself. Not a protective film.

I wasnt sure if this phone still had that. But I read something somewhere in the papers that came with the phone warning not to try to remove it. And it actually said not to put any other sticky film on top of it. I figure if the protector gets ripped you might damage your screen when trying to peel it off.

I have a glass protector on the outside display, and over the camera lenses. Didnt end up using the big ones for the inside display. Got scared.

Yeah I'm not planning on anything on the big screen. Gunna wait and see how bulky it is to decide on my case. I think I want one with a stand

You may end up liking the Samsung one then.  It's not bad with the stand instead of the s pen holster.

Well, this thing is awesome. Very happy with my choice.... it's bulky but not terrible. Really don't notice the crease at all.

agree on the crease.

Agree on the bluk (without the S pen. I thought that was a little much.) Phone folded is still fine in my pocket.

One little glitch I have had a few times already- sometimes on my front screen, things are too wide, as if I am looking at the big screen. Its not enough to go home and re-open the app. You have to hit the little sideways hamburger button to swipe to close the app. Then after re-opening itll be sized right. Its not gonna kill me to deal with that occasionally, but I do hope they put out an OTA fix for it.

Just curious if any of you Fold users actually multi-task with it? I personally always thought two separate screens in a foldable phone would be more conducive to multi-tasking than a single foldable screen. Something like Microsoft’s Surface Duo, but without the software issues they’ve been having.

The whole reason a foldable phone appeals to me is having that extra screen real estate to have like a note taking app open on one side, and a PDF or webpage open on the other.

I have done that.

I had a work email asking me to work a few extra things on different dates.

I was able to bring up my school calendar and see the dates on the email at the same time. And then I was able to bring up the texting app and email at the same time so I could text my wife the dates and check with her if there was anything going on that I was forgetting.

The Fold 4 makes it really easy too, with a task bar at the bottom so you can easily drag up whichever app you want to use in split screen.

Last night I was playing live craps on one side, and scrolling the internet on the other. I can have draftkings and ESPN open at the same time, or YouTubetv

I can honestly say I have never seen someone use a pen with their phone.  Ever.

I use mine all the time.   It's awesome.

I've had every Note since the 2nd one

Hamburger button

I was doing work for a company a few months ago and someone actually had that as an official app title.

of course this was the same tech group thar told me an rj45 plug was a male data jack.

That’s convenient.

I’m on the fence about jumping back to Android. The iOS integration with my MacBook has kept me in Apple world but I may need to switch to a Windows laptop for work so… considering a move back.

All my stuff is Samsung, so I understand the integration hold up. I'm way too far into Samsung now.

Yeah. Hard to switch when I’ve got an iPhone, MacBook, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and iPad.

But the laptop may be the first shoe to drop if I need to switch over to a Windows machine. Maybe I’ll go with a Samsung Galaxy Book, and start gradually transitioning my other tech to Samsung.

I have the galaxy book pro and it's great. Never had an apple computer,  but this is by far the best laptop I've ever have.

Well, I think Samsung is getting my business when I upgrade. Or Google.

iPhone 14 is extremely underwhelming. Basically the same phone as the 13 with a few little upgrades. Apple just isn’t the innovative company they used to be.

I like the active video recording where the image looks like you're using a gimble!

Eh, I’m not a photographer. Or videographer for that matter.  I snap a few casual photos and vids during holidays or when my toddler is doing something cute. Frankly, the iPhone XR camera was even sufficient for me. I can’t get excited when improved camera features are the "big” selling point.

Trying to sell me on eSim being a big deal, but the only time I deal with a SIM card to begin with is putting it in the phone when I first get it. I’d argue that eSim is even less convenient than a physical card, because it means if my phone is broken I can’t just pop the sim out quick and put it in another phone. I’d have to go down to Verizon and get another one to put in a different phone.

All-in-all this was just underwhelming. I was already on the fence about getting the iPhone 14 or jumping to Android in the spring, and his new phone certainly didn’t do anything to sway me further to Apple’s side.

same. i will say that the "island" thing they put the camera in on the display is kind of cool. however, when i open my fold 4 and realize i cant see my camera unless im looking for it or using it, im reminded that i just dont want to know the camera is there.

my brother was watching the apple event at work and it seemed like they are marketing their new stuff to extreme adventure athletes. most of the stuff they announced wont get used by 95% of the population.

Yeah but even the "island” is only in the Pro model. The standard iPhone 14 and 14 Plus both still have the same old camera notch. It’s a joke that they’re also only updating the chip to the a16 on the pro models. Every other iPhone release has included the next gen processor across the entire lineup, not just the high end model.

the notch annoys me to no end. its ridiculous that they havent given in and at least done a cut out. i guess this island thing is thier but out but its much more noticable.

any galaxy owners hate the sheet out of that bixby crap?
