But my gut is def telling me it's going to be OL at 10. And, I think the ideal scenario is that they can swing a small trade back...say, no further than to 14th...and land an OL there while getting an extra pick or 2. I believe that is at the top of the "what Howie will do" list. This, of course, is if Carter, Wilson or Anderson aren't there at 10...and I don't think any of those 3 will be. Wouldn't it be something if something like this happened: Trade down to 14 with the Pats and get a 3rd rounder (pick 76). Draft one of the top 4 OL (or DL) at 14. Then use that 3rd rounder to trade up from 30 in order to snag Bijan. Or better yet, use our own 3rd (94) to move up from 30 for Bijan (we'd still have a pick in the 3rd but mid round instead of bottom of round).

Doesn't have the versatility that some of the others have but he could be a candidate at 30 (or top of 2nd after trade down from 30).
April 21, 20232 yr 1.My guess is that "if" any of Will Anderson, Jalen Carter or Tyree Wilson are there at 10, one will be the pick. 2.If all 3 are gone (more than likely) then the Birds will look to trade down. 3.If they can't trade down and are forced to pick, then it's either OL or Bijan Robinson. I have a long post on the value of Bijan in the Bijan thread from a few weeks ago if by chance anyone cares 🙂 4.CB at 10 is a longshot now since both Slay and Bradbury are likely here for at least the next 2 years. Love Witherspoon, but I think the Birds won't have interest even if there (although either he or Gonzalez would drum up interest for a trade down if there at 10). 5.I don't see any DLinemen aside from the top 3 being worth a top 10 pick. Guys like Murphy, Van Ness, Kancy, Nolan Smith etc .. are solid guys between 15-30, but all are more trade down options as opposed to top 10 value. *** My final verdict: I think there is a HIGH chance we trade down and still end up with RB Bijan Robinson and I think it will be with the Patriots at 14 who will want to have their choice of OT or even QB if one of the top 4 falls as it looks like they've already soured on Mac Jones. New England has 3 4th round picks and 4 6th round picks to help facilitate a trade as the Eagles have no picks in Rds 4, 5 or 6.

The Eagles haven't checked out Wilson or Anderson to my knowledge. I think anybody they'd consider trading up would have come in for a visit. I wonder about Wilson's medicals. Could he be a guy who drops because of medical red flags on draft day?
April 22, 20232 yr The problem with drafting Bijan at No. 10 from Howie's perspective is that if he is a successful player, then four years down the road you will have to pay him like $20M a year to retain him, and paying a RB big dollars does not fit with the Eagles model of how you build and maintain a team. In the first round, Howie wants to draft 10 year solutions at high-impact positions, not 4 year solutions at lower-impact positions.

This is a year where it is really hard to get a good feel for who seems like the most likely choice.
April 22, 20232 yr The Eagles will trade back at 10 for a 2024 first and a later 2023 first. They will use 30 to get Baker or White or some other young in their prime established player.

Explosiveness at the RB position is overrated, you're mostly talking untouched runs, how often do you see Gibbs breaking a tackle? From my perspective Charbonnet is the best back in the draft, get him at 30 or a trade down picking up an early to mid 2nd and get him there.
