This happens every year during the off-season. Everyone is rumored to go to the Eagles. Nothing new. Sometimes where there's smoke there's fire. More often than not it's nothing.

There have been Henry rumors going to the Dolphins recently as well.  

I think it happens to other fan bases.  We probably just don't notice as much since it's not our team.

People do fall for it easily.  

During the offseason lots of "reporters" post "articles" that are just pure made up speculation by them, with zero basis in any facts or intentions of the team.  They look at needs of a roster and start making up scenarios just like regular fans do, just like if you're sitting at a bar and throwing out what if scenarios.  

Some do a better job of wording them as guesses or their opinion. Others make it sound like there's actually something in the works.  You see things like "5 potential landing spots for ____."  Or "Could [Team] pull off this draft day blockbuster trade?"  Because it's posted on Twitter, or a website that is just a fan blog people think it's a link so it must be legitimate.  Then others grab that link or tweet and share it as if it's legit...then people say "I'm hearing reports of..." and then it takes life.

At this time they’re plenty of rumors out there. I just did a search on Eagles rumors and they had the Eagles trading for about two different players, trading up, trading down, Howie being completely in love with four very different prospects, and the entire NFC scared the Eagles will take Robinson. It is pure Howie gold because no one knows what the Eagles will do until the time comes. Agents love this because the best way to drive up the price of their player is to link him to the Eagles. Our fans waste no time getting the clickbait going. The Eagles love it because most of the talk keeps them under the radar to go about their true intentions. The Eagles do not comment on their movements so regardless if you hear they are or aren’t interested in a particular player it is purely speculation.

It has to some what just be a philly thing because I'm a fan of other teams in other pro sports and it's comical watching philly fans tell me that my team is getting so and so just for it to be only philly reports that are making these rumors up lol.

Yet some people act like they absolutely knew what the Eagles were going to do for months. 😂 Yet those same people don’t want to admit they wanted the Eagles to draft players like Reagor too. 😂

I doubt it would cost much in the trade department and knowing Howie he’d structure the contract in a way (if there was an extension) that it wouldn’t hurt nearly as much as people would assume. Overall I think if there’s any chance this is happening, it’s a backup plan in case any of the Eagles real intentions fall though.
