Posted April 26, 20232 yr This topic is getting hotter and hotter. Plenty of stuff out there to look at to get an idea of where things are and where some think things will go. One example of what is happening is with SnapChat where there is something called "My AI". It acts as a pinned participant in a thread and unlike the other participants it is always active. This started in early March. The returns are not good. To start, there was no age filter in the launch version and it gave all sorts of age inappropriate information to young users. Users also find it very creepy and intrusive and it isn't possible to remove it without a Snapchat+ subscription. Then you have all the other stuff with deep fakes, voice and video, effects on education, etc. etc. Are we ready for this stuff? Lots of good will come from it for sure but it will be joined by the bad and we really have no idea what the outcomes will be at this stage.

Nearly all existing applications that we know of come under this category of AI. All present-day AI systems, such as those using deep learning, are trained by large volumes of training data that they store in their memory to form a reference model for solving future problems. Theory of the Mind -While the previous two types of AI have been and are found in abundance, the next two types of AI exist, for now, either as a concept or a work in progress. Self Awareness. This is the final stage of AI development which currently exists only hypothetically. Self-aware AI, which, self explanatorily, is an AI that has evolved to be so akin to the human brain that it has developed self-awareness. Creating this type of Ai, which is decades, if not centuries away from materializing, is and will always be the ultimate objective of all AI research. We are currently at the limited Memory stage. We are nowhere near this level yet.
