She didn't have a vote in the ruling.

That's recusal.

It's not complicated.

for someone who is trying to troll it is.

The reason you recuse is a conflict of interest that may impact your judgement. She wasn't party to the judgement.

There's she recused.

Writing an opinion about it after the fact is irrelevant.

Fair enough, she recused herself from voting in the Harvard case. She also should have declined to be on the formal dissenting opinion that includes the Harvard case imho. At minimum, the opinion should make clear that her inclusion only reflects upon the UNC case.

i think that's a bit of nitpicking .i think her opinion can be whatever she voices as long as she had no bearing on the decision.

Ok, I agree her opinion can be whatever she wants and she can voice it. What I disagree with is her doing it in the formal dissenting opinion.

we can agree to disagree on that. let me say though, i'm not a big expert on the supreme court so i may be niave in thinking there's no issue with it.

i am glad that she did recuse herself unlike some other sc judges have on issues.

Court strikes down Biden's student loan forgiveness. Good.

Yep, we can disagree on that single point.  We agree with the rest.

There are countless twitter threads about how she is really a trans woman, and that the baby eating liberal cabal who rigs all the elections is pushing the trans agenda in order to pave the way for her to be the first trans president. If you read through twitter these are NOT conspiracy theories to those discussing it, its total fact. Im surprised the insanity hasn't made its way here through the usual right wing twitter dorks who post that kind of nonsense here.

I think most of those looney tunes (I think MR CYN was the birther moron?) gave up after being laughed at daily. Even Kz and lynched seem to have lost steam (low energy, no stamina, sad) leaving only a rube from the dumbest state in the country left to defend Dear Leader. Hate to see it.

It's actually bull crap. I've posted this before, once the SC (and everyone else) said it was ok for Trump to divert congressionally appropriated funds for his wall, then all bets were off. Biden should literally cut the pentagon budget to pay for this just to make a point (or at least threaten to).

This SC is just a political extension of the republican party and its total nonsense making a mockery of our entire system. Im not saying I'm for the Biden loan forgiveness plan. Im saying its bull crap that Trump can do whatever the hell he wants, and a president from the other side can't. It's laughable. These are unelected politicians appointed for life carrying out the wishes of their party. Nothing more.

A flaw in the system that needs to be corrected.  Trump shouldn't have had all the power thru executive decision that he had and neither should Biden.  Also, it goes further back then these last two POTUS.

Govt would get rid of this act if they cared but they don't

Student loans first became nondischargeable in bankruptcy in 1976 as part of § 439A Higher Education Act of 1976.

Should Trump get back into office this SC will let him spend money on whatever flights of fancy he wants and we all know it. Nothing is being corrected. The SC is merely making the law of the land to read "Republican presidents have unlimited power to spend how they see fit. Democratic presidents do not"

Right and the tables would turn if the Dems "owned" the court.  It needs to be corrected.

Aww look at you, did you impress your friends with this post?

Sorry I continually embarrass you so much.

Of course I have no idea what youre talking about with respect to Michelle Obama, but you do you.

Lol wow so triggered by a guy who's been out of office for 3 years.

Very libertarian post.

So how much do you owe in student loan debt?

Yeah the last sentence is the key one.  I acknowledge there's no power on earth strong enough to prevent TDS, but Obama expanded executive power far more than any other POTUS and you all probably cheered him on when he did it because Obama was so cool.

Sucks that all your trumpbot friends left you to fend for yourself. It's ok bud, we'll still gladly mock you for being the toothless moron that you are if you're that starved for attention.

I've seen stuff like that in social media comments, I thought it was just a dumb joke but then there are people who believe it and have "evidence."
