time2rock
REPORT: EAGLES WORK OUT THREE PUNTERS, STILL SEARCHING FOR SIPOSS REPLACEMENT By Victor Williams August 31, 2023 Here it is, the news we’ve all been waiting for — the Eagles are working out PUNTERS. Incumbent punter Arryn Siposs entered the summer competing against UDFA Ty Zentner. Siposs didn’t necessarily win the competition; Zentner just wasn’t much better. As a result, the Eagles cut ties with Zentner during camp, but that doesn’t mean Siposs is safe. On Tuesday’s roster cut deadline, Philadelphia released Siposs but later brought him back on the practice squad. If a more appealing option doesn’t present itself, Siposs will be called up for Week 1. Amidst their search, the Eagles have worked out punters Blake Gilliki, Pat O’Donnell, and Colby Wadman, first reported by KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. Below are each punter’s stats thus far in their NFL careers: Blake Gillikin 47.0 yards average 38.1% inside 20 6.9% touchback 41.7 net/punt Pat O’Donnell 45.1 yards average 36.4% inside 20 6.2% touchback 39.2 net/punt Colby Wadman 44.5 yards average 35.7% inside 20 7.7% touchback 38.7 net/punt Arryn Siposs 44.7 yards average 33.3% inside 20 6.1% touchback 38.7 net/punt There may not be a stark difference between the numbers, but Siposs only pinned 19 out of 44 punts inside the 20 last season, which ranked 27th in the NFL. His poor punt in the Super Bowl set up a 65-yard return by Kadarius Toney and an eventual Kansas City touchdown three plays later. Siposs can’t be trusted, especially by a team with championship aspirations. There has been some buzz surrounding the "Punt God” Matt Araiza, but the Eagles reportedly won’t bring him in. Araiza was accused of sexual assault in August of last year and was later found not guilty during trial. https://thelibertyline.com/2023/08/31/report-eagles-work-out-three-punters/
UK_EaglesFan89
Gilikin probably looks the best of the bunch there. The numbers aren’t great but hey you aren’t going to get great punters at this point.

He wasn't exonerated, Araiza's team have been very good in playing smoke and mirrors with what the DA said, but he fully accepts he had sex with the girl who was under age at the time, which was always the main allegation against him, he says it was consensual and he didn't know the girls age, the DA declined to take it to trial and says Araiza had an alibi for the second part of the allegations against him (that he led the girl into a room where at least 3 other guys ran a train), so in a strict legal sense he's innocent, but there is clearly something in the case that is making NFL teams want no part of it.
