To be fair - he was an idiot.

Republicans have their own hype machine:  Fox News, conservative radio, Townhall, etc.  the Democrats don’t have anything remotely similar

The white house should stop telling media outlets what to cover and not to cover. It just feeds into the demented paranoia of trumpbots, but I suppose they will be forever demented so I guess it's a moot point either way.

Remember when we found out that Trump and Sean Hannity frequently had conversations over the phone?  No one blinked an eye because we were all like "yeah, that makes sense…”

This is one case where I would hope Biden and his people would know better than to sink to the same low as Trump.

Love it.  Hope to see more of it.  Republicans coordinate like this with right wing media all the time and have for a long time.   Dems better be playing the same game.

The memo is quite the read. I hope the media reports the truth and not the lies.

Yeah.  I don’t really like it.  But Republicans are already winning this game pretty convincingly.  Dems are basically conceding that too.

Sure, in a perfect world it wouldn't happen but that's not even close to the landscape we're in.  As with so many issues, the shameless partisanship of the right is baked in and expected, so no one bats an eye when Trump, while a sitting President, literally tells the right wing media what to report, point by point, on a daily basis.  But if there's even a hint of coordination from the left, it gets called out.  But the left is just going to have to get past all that and live in roughly that same space, because adapt or die.

Fox News was literally North Korean state television from 2016 to 2020 talking about the virtues of dear leader 24/7. Part of the republican party platform is putting the FCC under the Whitehouse, revoking the broadcasting license of CNN, MSNBC and any other media outlet that even remotely criticizes the president.

In "Airplane!" (1980), Dr. Rumack says "Don't call my Shirley". This scene is left over from the original script where Dr. Rumack was a trans man struggling to work with a pilot

They have no way to compete with the right wing media.

There is no left wing equivalent to Fox news. None. No matter how bad some of you want it to be true.

He's right.  Orwell?  1984?  Did you watch Fox during the Trump years?  Trump would lie about obvious sheet like crowd size or hurricane paths and Fox would spin the lie all day.  It was literally the 1984 line about not trusting your eyes and ears.

Trump would call into Fox and Friends and they would put him on the air and just let him ramble.

CNN is touting a poll, with a sample of 60% republicans that "proves" America thinks Biden is corrupt.

MSNBC? Remember when they tried to sabotage Biden's campaign by calling him a rapist? (The accuser turned out to be a Russian agent by the way.) Fox News would never even think of doing anything similar to their Orange Messiah. There is no left wing equivalent of Fox News. I know it, and you know it. If you don't know it, you are mentally challenged past the point of help.

"left wing" media routinely criticizes democrats.

right wing media does no such thing.

to be sure plenty of media outlets have left of center editorial boards and in general editoralizing.

but they are also pretty critical of Democrat politicians.

"left wing" news outlets have frequently published articles - such as the one above - saying that Biden shouldn't run, criticizing policies, etc. Hillary herself famously disliked the NY Times because they felt they were very harsh with her.

Fox meanwhile is basically a mouthpiece for the Republican party by design. It was built from the ground up to be exactly that.

there is no equivalent to Fox.

Jim Jordan Pulls a McCarthy, Flip-Flops on Impeachment Inquiry Vote

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/jim-jordan-pulls-mccarthy-flip-213458745.html

Just three days later, and after Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy flip-flopped on his vow to hold a vote before launching the probe, Jordan, one of the three co-chairs of the impeachment inquiry, pulled his own 180 by telling Fox & Friends, "We don’t need that to move forward” because McCarthy’s pronouncement "gives added weight to it.”

Despite having no concrete evidence to support Republican allegations that the president was involved in any wrongdoing as it relates to his family’s business dealings, McCarthy capitulated to MAGA hardliners on Tuesday and announced he was unilaterally opening an impeachment inquiry.

What the Dems need is a Roger Stone. Some who comes up with a plan to smear Republicans.

He has his underling reach out to a Dem female willing to earn an extra few thousdand dollars. All she has to do is say this republican sexaully assaulted her. come up with a detailed story for her to use. etc. etc. Maybe even an AI generated photo of him with her, like they did to Gary Hart.

Or just have a pretty girl go stand next to him and take photo, then use the photo to claim she is his mistress. etc.

Dems need to play dirty tricks just like the GOP does.

At some point I'm going to have to believe that Democrats want to lose to Trump in 2024. Having that moron in the White House again would be supercharge their fund raising, and the resulting catastrophe would likely end the GOP. They have no one viable to replace Biden -- Newsom is the closest idea, but I wouldn't bet on him to beat Trump. They have no bench.

That was my immediate thought. Dems are trying to sabotage their own voter turn out. Oh, Biden's too old. I'm gonna sit this one out. Idiots.
