SMH.  Why would he even get remotely close to publishing a comment like that?   When someone rolls a quote attributed to Hitler into a published post, it just shows how far off track our world has become. These divisive attitudes and actions and the double standard can't be acceptable.

He'll have made an apology and agreed to some sort of education programme by Friday and even then there's a realistic chance he gets cut, there's no way the team can let that stand,  he could've tried to float a defence that he wasn't aware of all Farrakhan's expressed views but there's no way he can quote Hitler (even falsely) and say he thought it was a positive thing.

I know the narrative you're shooting for but honestly think it's horseshit.

I ahree with you. What you say is the correct method of handling the situation.  Apologies and sensitivity training are nice, but they amount to nothing.  I just suspect that the team stops well short of ending his employment, but that is the most correct response.
