Great, now we get to sit through 100 posts of white guys complaining about how unfair it is that Desean Jackson gets to say racist stuff and they can't.

Oh no........... This is exactly why people say shut up and play. Also I wonder how someone like you know Howie ROSEMAN will take this. Maybe being black will save him.

It'll be racist if he were to be cut

I seriously doubt roseman or lurie care about this

Don't they have Anderson still?

They can't cut him because then the media will scream from high heaven that they kept Riley Cooper when he directly used the N word, yet cut D-Jax after he quoted racist stuff.

Normally I'm a sky is falling type of person, but this really will just blow over.

Pretty much. Especially in todays climate

Won’t be an issue.  If a white guy said it, different story.

I disagree, because this will be an issue. People will be talking about this and bringing unwanted attention the Eagles way.

Of course it will.

Is that like how being white saved Riley Cooper?

There won’t be a season.  So there won’t be any attention.

Until the NFL says otherwise it will be a season.

Whatever you say.  Cooper sucked and should have been gone.  But this is the exact reason why nothing will happen to Jackson.  How would it look if they kept Cooper around but cut Jackson?

I agree with that, and both should have been cut in my opinion, but I can see how that could also cause issues.

Its not a good look but also not acceptable to let history repeat itself. I doubt jackson is let go, anyway.

Pretty sure Vick saved Cooper

Pretty sure Kelly saved Cooper considering Vick got dumped the next season and Cooper got a new contract.

Sure

Actually Vick said a few years ago that he was pressured into caping up for Cooper, and that he wish he hadn’t done that.

Sorry kids, nothing's free.

Freedom of Speech even comes with a price.

Yep. The story would turn from antisemitism to racial injustice in a heartbeat.

It does seem as though Jackson is more uninformed than hateful here. Seems like a public apology/sensitivity training situation.

The key difference with Cooper is what he said affected his team mates, it looks like it was glossed over but there was a team meeting and guys said forgive his dumb a**.

That's a different kettle of fish to being anti semitic when your boss and your boss' boss are both Jewish.  Lurie may not be a religiously observant Jew but that doesn't really matter when Jackson has posted that Adolf Hitler knew the truth, it's worse than what Cooper did (and to be clear what Cooper said was abhorrent) because he's actually sought out passages in a book to underline and said he agrees with it.

He's toast,  it may even be taken out of the teams hands, there's no guarantee the league doesn't step in.

That makes it look worse if the eagles cut him. It’ll be spun as when Cooper offended all his teammates the eagles sent him to rehab, but when the boss gets offended a black man loses his job.

eagles made their bed when they gave Cooper a pass, now if they drop the hammer on D-Jax it will scream double standard and selective outrage.

Now that the nfl is 100% political it is the beginning of the end.  They lost 12% ratings for kneeling and said the protests had "nothing to do with the flag or anthem.”

Now the demand is a black national anthem whatever that is.

Honestly you're kidding yourself, there's no way a team with a Jewish owner and GM is going to let that go unpunished,  he is genuinely at risk of being cut IMO.

He probably will not be cut due to the Riley Cooper episode. Apologies, I was insensitive, yada, yada, yada. If I were him, I'd be saving my nickels though because the likelihood of an extension and any post career honors took a hit.

NFL players are above everyone else like actors and media a-holes. Our life currently is like a crappy version of Hunger Games. Rich keep getting richer and above the laws while middle class disappears and poverty/low income rise steadily. Throw in mass amount of corruption/back end deals and a crapload of sheety music being shoved down our throats.

Just because a person is a dumbarse and then joins the NFL and becomes a rich dumbarse doesnt change the fact that the person is still a dumbarse

Good for Desean, anytime someone calls out Israel they get hammered.

Deseans quote isnt referring to every american jew, like roseman and lurie its referring to the Israeli state and Zionism which the US government funds, and its questionable desean is even aware of the anti zionist aspect of this quote and if he is it seems his message is for black people not anti zionism.

Why does the US give Israel more foreign Aid than any other foreign country?

Why does the US not condemn the slaughter of Palestinians by israel?

If one asks these questions one is either branded un american or anti semite.

Im actually surprised by the reaction of posters on this board who spend weeks claiming free speech rights then when a black athlete says something they dont agree with then all the sudden free speech goes out the window and public apologies are in order to soothe the offended.

Free speech is free speech is it not?

No, it is not.  Words have consequences.

i agree yet seems those consequences only matter when its something a white person doesnt agree with No?

Im not arguing words dont have consequences im asking that people be consistent with asking for consequences.

Brees for example, plenty of posters saying he has the right to free speech, k state student who posted racist remarks about george floyd and the university says, we cant break law and kick him out of college cuz free speech. So where are the consequences of his words?

People can show up to trump rallies with NSDAP flags, free speech, they can walk in streets as open NSDAPs, free speech says everyone.

Then somebody calls out israel and like a bunch of lap dogs the brain washed masses without even thinking attack the messenger and they dont dont claim , free speech, they call for consequences😒

Im all for consequences, natural consequences have zero bias enforced consequences shouldnt either.
