I hate racism and anti-semitism. HATE. IT.

If it were my team he'd be fired before the sun came up.

If true, that would give the FO grounds to cut him. They warned him about social media and he apologized and if he turned around and liked the post saying he shouldn't be forced to apologize, that should be enough to cut him. Plus, Lurie and Pederson had a meeting with all players a few weeks ago about tolerance and a clear the air about social issues. So, this whole thing shouldn't be happening after that.

Now we know the real reason why DJax posted what he did...

He can mean what he said and still appreciate that his teammates are willing to stick up for him by liking their post. They cut him and their will be major problems with the rest of the teammates.

Meh, cut his a**. You show it isn't acceptable. Not in 2020. He isn't even good so it is funny watching people twist themselves into a pretzel over him. We've seen in the last month plus people get fired for saying things that were not nearly close to what MeSean has said. Allowing it to slide and this thinking is why it won't change. Get rid of him. Dude never should have been brought back. Another Howie special! MeSean is just a headache and has been.

I hate desean and never wanted him back either. Just pointing out he has his teammates support now and he knows it. They are not going to be able to cut him now

Man, just the click of a "like" button can cause such a problem.  smh

He has unliked it now by the looks of things. But it does show that he doesn't realise what he said was wrong and the apology was to basically stop himself getting cut.

This is problematic. Drew Brees was completely inappropriate in his post about the national anthem. What he said wasn't racist, but it was inappropriate and incredibly badly timed right at the start of the Black Lives Matter movement.

But Desean's posts were just racist/anti-semitic. They were not borderline. And also quoted (even though it wasn't his actual quote), one of the most evil men in history who was responsible for the death of millions of innocent people.

I cannot believe people are trying to defend these comments as free speech. They are hateful (even if they were misguided). DeSean needs to be fined and educated and the Black Lives Matter movement needs to continue and move away from this.

Ignorance is all you can chalk it up to. People need to be open and have some empathy. Unfortunately, we are in extremely divisive times where hate and misinformation is prevalent. A lot of it is intentional to ignite intolerance especially with the social media landscape (I see you bots and Cambridge Analyticas out there). I haven't really experienced anything like this in my life time to this degree.

In the end, I like the response form Julian Edelman. We have to learn from each other. We have so much in common more so than people even realize. So maybe some good actually comes out of this if everyone follows through with the discourse and dialogue. It could spark a broader conversation and understanding that is terribly needed. Weird things is  I recall conversations happening for the rights of dogs when it happened to this organization but not when it came to racial slurs at a concert. Just weird. We'll see what happens I guess. Hoping for the best.

no doubt its been brought up prior, but the eagles already set the precedent with cooper. they dug themselves into this hole and nobody else to blame but themselves.

Cut him because he had a no no thought? I didn't know so many NFL fans were such big snowflakes 😂

Many believe that the precedent is that they screwed up with Cooper, so they are just stuck with the same result with Jaccpot.  In reality, the precedent may be that the Owner is exceptionally tolerant and open and wants to allow second chances in a world that rarely allows that. Maybe, he believes that they can be better men.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't whether or not you get cut be determined by your play on the field? I never knew that we signed players based on their political beliefs

Well he only gave us one game on the field last year, because he was stubborn and refused surgery early on. Add that to the fact that he is 33 years old, will be 34 by the time the season ends, and that he missed 4 games as well in 2018...

Its not a reach to think that you can’t rely on him to produce on the field at this point in his career.

issue is, they not only kept cooper, they gave him an extension. that said, regardless of what side of the discussion you align yourself, they put themselves in this position.

I'm not aligned with either side. I am speculating that Cooper was the exact way that Lurie wanted to handle that situation and repeated it with Jackson.  From seeing his comments over the years, etc., I think he is pretty inclusive and open minded and forgiving guy on many things.  I don't think he viewed Cooper's punishment as a mistake that he was forced to repeat from precedence.  He said "Ok, you made a big mistake. Now, atone for it."   He believed Cooper did and extended him.  What will become of this situation is up to Jackson now.

BTW, he could have easily gone a different way (and still may) and just chalked it up to different time, different climate.  Things change over time.

It seem to me that Lurie sees beyond "run fast, catch ball" and looks at a lot of important intangible qualities with his employees (teammate, community involvement, company representative).   At least, that is what I think I see with his actions.   Maybe, I am wrong.

This will blow over.  Sadly, anti-semitism amongst the black community is widely accepted today in our otherwise woke culture.  I suspect however if a white player had posted this exact same content they would be run out of the league.
