This will blow over.  Sadly, anti-semitism amongst the black community is widely accepted today in our otherwise woke culture.  I suspect however if a white player had posted this exact same content they would be run out of the league.

That's odd because most minorities, with the exception of Minister Farrakhan and his follower types, don't make a distinction between Jewish and Caucasian folks in general from my experiences.  The ignorance lies in not even understanding anti-semitism and its existence. Racism vs prejudice towards those because of their religion has it's similarities but it is indeed different. The melanin and lack there of and other physical characteristics are the distinctions.  There's not much of an understanding of the various struggles of other communities in the minority community because they are so inundated with their own plight that it blinds them from recognizing the similarities. For example how many folks do you think know about the struggles of the Japanese Americans during World War II and their placement into internment/concentration camps on US soil? (very similar to what we're seeing done to immigrants and children these days which sickens me)

Ultimately, minorities are just trying to get by to overcome their own struggles and typically that's how every community is to a degree. I think the approach has been for some time that if you solve the issues of the minority community since they are at the very bottom socially and economically, you solve the issues for everyone else. At least that's how it's been from my experiences in minority communities and social spaces. Historically that has been the case as well.

The eagles posted their response - he’s been "penalized for conduct detrimental to the team” no specifics on what that is or will be.  I guess a fine, maybe a game.

At this point I honestly don’t care what he has to say.  I don’t go to any athletes IG page for their world views or their Opinions on politics or the affect of a recession on family dynamics.  I take this crap with a grain of salt.  I have no hate in my heart for anyone (other than the cowboys) so it’s not worth even getting upset about.  I married a Jewish girl - we just rolled our eyes at it and moved on.  I don’t think desean has any hate towards the Jews..... I think he has a reading comprehension issue and shouldn’t post quotes he doesn’t understand.  Simple as that.

Like I said, the precedent was already set with Riley Cooper, Eagles could not deviate from it. So a fine and a stern talking to was as far as they could go.

Time to move on.

Looks like the Eagles handled this as best they could. Seems like the right thing to do for now. I say for now, because if DJax can't keep his mouth shut on social media and keeps trying to be a big shot, he is going to say something again, and that will be the end of the matter. DJax- just stop trying to be a social media hero and maybe it stays calm- you got REAL lucky here. Run with it.

Does this make everything square or is this the official precedent for all future racist incidents on the team?

It really stinks because if taken in context, he literally was just adding his support to the work that BLM has done in fighting for racial equality and civil rights. The statement I read was about the black community not being treated fairly and not allowed to attain equal status with their peers. With all that is going on in this country, it is hard to understand anyone who read that and was like dang DJAC gone anti-semite on us and yet ignore that real message in there that is all about the plight of his community not getting the fairness or the equality that is warranted and deserved.

Now he's been penalized and is being ran through the ringer. If the media wasn't a bunch of drama queens this probably would have been fine with a simple, Hey that's not the message I was trying to convey and I'm sorry followed by it being taken down. The fact that this has escalated beyond common sense means that people are just too sensitive for their own good these days.

I can’t even begin to count how many social media posts that I’ve taken down just minutes after posting them because of fear that someone will take it out of context and I will suffer for it.

Oh no........... This is exactly why people say shut up and play. Also I wonder how someone like you know Howie ROSEMAN will take this. Maybe being black will save him.

"This is why people say "shut up and play"? Unless it's Aaron Rodgers saying sht you agree with? "Being black will save him"? You mean like it saved him during that BS story about being in a gang? And "they robbed his house of $250k cash"? And "who has $250k cash laying around"? And then "being black" forced the police to come out and correct the BS news reports and it turned out it was more like $20 grand/jewelry being stolen?

Great, now we get to sit through 100 posts of white guys complaining about how unfair it is that Desean Jackson gets to say racist stuff and they can't.

I couldn't get past the 1st 2 pages or the justification of "shut up and play". SMFH And then the "this is worse than Cooper saying "I'll fight every %^&* in here". And I couldn't even quote the "The ratings dropped 12% when "THEY" kneeled"... and how "THEY" tried to say "kneeling wasn't about the flag or anthem"...unreal.

Yeah.. us white guys have it so much tougher  huh?

It's like some of you weren't even here when Cooper said what he said. There were team meetings and discussions and topics on the EMB of folk saying over and over "he was drunk".. "he's not racist, he only said %^&* once". Yeah.. he was run right out of town.

Not only was he NOT run out of the league, he wasn't cut, and he got a new contract.

So the punishment mirrors Cooper's. Fine and education. OK. Let's move on.

Even if he hates jews so what? Hating people isn't illegal and at the end of the day he needs to catch first down passes. Anything else is hype

This is bizarre logic. So if wentz posted up a statement on his twitter or whatever saying he hates black people, that would be ok because it’s not illegal and he just has to throw the ball?

obviously that would be an issue because there are so many blacks on the team

Ok, and his GM and owner are both Jewish.

So by your logic, it would be fine if, say an NHL player said it because there aren’t many black people in that league.

That was a very different time.  Drew Brees can't even say that he thinks kneeling for the flag is disrespectful anymore without being eviscerated by his fellow players and the media.

I was here for Cooper's comments and would have supported any action the league or team would have taken with him.  That being said, he was caught on video by a third party while drunk at a concert using a racial slur amongst his friends.

Jackson on the other hand knowingly posted a highlighted racist quote on his twitter feed that he believed was from Adolf Hitler.

If a white player posted a racist Hitler quote today he would 100% be run out of the league.

And this doesn't even address the rampant and growing antisemitism in this country today.  Amazing how equality is demanded while intolerance towards others is cultivated and promoted by the very same groups.

I'm curious what experience you are referencing.  Its hard to find any objective review of Farrakhan's writings and sermons that don't call out his pronounced antisemitism.  There has also been a rash of of defacement or Jewish temples and very public antisemitic remarks made by the far left protesters. I think this is more wide spread than you think.

At first I was hesitant to compare this with Cooper, but it works. Stupid mistake he's going to pay for. He posted it perhaps to impress someone only the wrong people saw it. Not unlike a guy who said something at a concert only the wrong people heard it. Are we afraid they really meant it? Of course. It's their job to convince us they didn't.

Sure, people should be allowed to think whatever they want as long as they are not harming anybody else.

They are harming someone else. They are a representative of their employer, in this case the Philadelphia Eagles.

You seem to be forgetting the opportunity to play in the NFL is a privilege, not a right.
