  • I'm here, thanks VaBeach. I appreciate all the EMB members that support us in these days, I does matter. The members that support the other side… I'm speechless.

Well, unless your president is Gordon Gee

The worst thing is that all of them actually know and agree with the correct answer. They just have zero spine and zero moral standing. Pure pandering. The fact that we have the heads of our best institutions taking this course of action shows how far the country has fallen. The likes of Munson and Moss are  slowly winning and the only alternative at the moment is worse, an orange ball of pure filth.

Based on the conduct of students and staff, I’m going to go out on a limb that a new Ivy degree doesn’t hold the prestige that it once did, and a new holder of one doesn’t have the same knowledge base or work ethic that they once did.

It depends a lot on the major, to be honest. The Wharton kids are still motivated. The pre-med kids at Harvard still work like crazy.

But the joke majors are rising, and a bunch of the people going to law school now are going to get obliterated if they join real firms.

Her performance no doubt cost the college 10s of millions of dollars.

She carries more water for Donald Trump than almost anyone else out there.  You do know that, right?  Because those university presidents certainly know it…

And that someone excuses or justifies what these presidents said?   If she’s a Trump water carrier than she’s a moron for doing that.  That doesn’t someone excuse what these presidents said.

They support Trump so I'm going to side with the terrorists is a solid position.

Anti-Semitism has permeated throughout the country. Great, they made some Ivy League presidents sweat on Capitol Hill. What does it prove? When less than 0.5% of college graduates come from an Ivy, and half of the country doesn't even have a degree? Republicans have also gutted the Education Department Office of Civil Rights that investigates these matters. It is political grandstanding. So nice we had a one day hearing, so everybody can go back to their business. Pointing fingers so nobody actually has to do anything about it.

Then why are we even here in CVON discussing a government hearing over 2 pages? It is not the solution. It is pointless.

Republicans desperately need a few sound bites that don't make them come across as the bigotted pieces of sheet that they are to balance out the thousands that do.  That's the point.  Solutions really aren't part of the equation.

Here, Rich will answer your question.

These three ladies are the heads of three of the very best universities in our country and ones that the country need to lead and set examples.

edit: Their performance yesterday was a complete moral failure and frankly they should be fired.  No doubt, if the subject matter was another minority and they behaved in the same manner they would certainly be losing their jobs.

...and here is the Pennsylvania Governor essentially calling for the head of the lady from UPenn

Campuses cancel speakers they disagree with for "hate speech" and discipline students for speech and Halloween costumes.

But with statements calling for genocide, the goal post is moved to "depends on the context" and "if the speech turns into conduct, it can be harassment."

Ivy grads have a disproportionate influence in the business and academic world

Liz Magill just put out a lame apology on Twitter.  Looks like the backlash was more than she expected.  Liz is caught in the quite the vice between Jewish and Qatari donors.  Bummer for her.
