Student debt I think he's slow playing. He's done enough to string along the useful idiots but knew the courts would take most of the sting away. 

I'm generally pro immigration but short of open borders so his immigration policy doesn't bother me much, but I understand why others have issue.

He's mediocre. As I said, a competent Republican handles him. But contrasted with the alternative.... it's not a difficult choice.

Most families share things like basic values and political opinions. It's not surprising at all that the political opinions of the head of the household would rub off on the spouse. It probably stems from thousands of years of males being the head of the household/breadwinners for families. Again, obviously that's not your situation as your wife provides for you and your kids, so it makes sense that your politics would be more feminine and that you would follow your wife's lead on the topic.
