The underlying causes need to be dealt with before the killing will end.

So a few things: 1) The people that were killed include Hamas terrorists as well as "civilians” that were helping Hamas hold the hostages. 2) The number of dead Hamas announced is likely greatly exaggerated just like the rest of their numbers. Remember when they claimed Israel bombed a hospital and killed 500 people? Only for it to turn out that it was Hamas’s own rockets that landed in the parking lot of a hospital, and had few deaths, if any?
