October 4, 2024Oct 4 I think kids are a largely reflection of their parents or the environment they grew up in. If the parents are high strung, the kids probably will pick up on that and exhibit similar behaviors. If the parents can use technology responsibly and moderate their own use, the kids might be okay with getting access earlier than some of their peers. If the parents are smart, the kids likely will be too. It's the same reason the coaches kid on rec teams is usually one of the better players. They're picking up and learning from him 24/7 vs just a couple hours a week the other kids are around the coach.

This makes them susceptible to misinformation, because they don’t have enough experience to be more skeptical. It’s why tricking kids is so friggin easy - the innocence of youth makes them gullible. Also, they aren’t taught anything useful in crap schools. And frankly, just like adults, about 95% are stupid. You obviously : 1) Aren't around kids 2) Weren't a deviant like me when you were one. Parents need to keep close dibs on what they are exposed to.
October 4, 2024Oct 4 Boomers are awful. Gen X is awful. Millennials are awful. Gen Z is awful. Stop me if you're seeing a pattern here.

Now, do you think that’s because in my 50s I’ve gained new knowledge and new life experiences? Or do you think it’s because you’ve come to the gradual realization that I was right all along”

The older I got the more I realized my dad was making up half the crap he told me instead of just telling me he didn’t know the answer to a lot of the things I asked.

The smartphone definitely ruined my dad's ability to make up an answer when he didn't know it off the top of his head.

Student loan forgiveness was a recent one that went about as expected.

And I definitely don’t take into account what the bug scientist community thinks.

Trump's economic policies, particularly on trade, are closer to Bernie Sanders than Ronald Reagan. And the religious right can screw right off. Just let me live my life and keep my money. That's all I want.

So stop lying to yourself, that's not "all you want" if you're voting for Kamala.

So, for the first time in my life, I am going to vote for a Democrat in a national election. I'm not going to vote for a traitorous imbecile just because he has an R next to his name. I believe in the actual principles of conservative economic policies, and no one in this election represents those. Had the GOP nominated anyone normal (i.e., not Trump or Vivek) I'd happily vote for him/her. And spare me acting like you have a clue about my bank account. First, you can't count that high. Second, Obama raised my taxes. Trump raised my taxes. Biden raised my taxes. The last guy to not hurt me economically was GWB.

My daughter's best friend truly believes Hillary Clinton wanders into hospitals. picks up a baby, takes it to a back room, and comes out of the room with no baby and the baby is gone without a trace. They're in high school for crying out loud. I mean zuker probably believes that too, and he's a grown man.

That sounds like boomers who over the last 8 to 10 years have figured it how to operate a cellphone and a laptop. Susceptible to misinformation at a crazy level. In reality, idiots just breed at a higher level than others.

Meh, not that it really matters because demographically we're already completely effed, but for the GOP to stay competitive even in the short term we'll need Trump and a massive deportation effort. Another 4 years of dems settling illegals in swing states and that's pretty much a wrap.
