February 5, 20251 yr Trump wants to "clean out” or "sanitize” Gaza and then not let the Palestinian people back there so Israel can settle it and make it resort-like. That’s my take-away so far.

How did palestinians acquire this random strip of land that is part of israel. I'm not religious but assume religion is at play bc thats what this region is known for.

No. Trump isn't doing the same thing. Democrats did not have any plans to forcibly remove Palestinians from Gaza so we could pave over it for a new Trump Tower and make it a Mediterranean resort town. The modern borders were established after the 1948 Arab-Israel war. Egypt controlled the strip of land in Gaza, so Palestinians fled there.
