October 6, 2025Oct 6 While I appreciate the president's efforts to settle this conflict and get the hostages released, I think he doesn't understand how the Mideast works. You don't negotiate with terrorists. They'll interpret negotiations as a sign of weakness and keep moving the goalposts down the line. The world would be a better place if the handcuffs were removed from Israel and they be given a free reign to eliminate Hamas once and for all. War is ugly, very ugly - and many civilians suffer as a result. But the cost of not finishing the job will be much greater, and many more will suffer in the long run.Sure hope I'm wrong on this and that a good deal is made and consummated.
