QB Factory

Minshew, Mariota, and Pickett are trades, and a signing. Can’t really call them. Part of the factory. The best QB trading Chip the Eagles ever had was A.J. Feeley. They somehow turned that dude into a 2nd round pick. Getting a 2nd for a pretty close to shot McNabb was brilliant too.

And kolb

Kolb was a 2nd and they got a second for him and Rodgers-Cromartie. I thought it was a great move at the time, but it turned out to be just another cog in the Dream Team nightmare.

We will see. I know you’re part of the hate Hurts at all cost clan, but if he finds a way to be the only Eagles quarterback to make it to another SB (let alone win it) then he puts himself in a class of his own. That would be ones heck of a pick by the factory. You haters will still hate though.

Jalen Super Bowl Performance is why I won't give up on him.  I've seen him on the biggest stage take on the so called "Baby GOAT" and outplay him.    Yes he didn't pull it out (Defense Fault), but he did everything to bring home Lombardi that day.   I have no doubt if we get back to the Super Bowl, Jalen will not leave that field without the trophy.   (Hopefully we stop Pat and Andy's three-peat).  Also it's so cool he's the face of the Olympics for the NFL.   When we drafted him, everyone laughed at me when I said he will be with us for 10 years.  Well look, he's on year 5 now.  The Eagles will return to the Super Bowl, I know Jalen will get us back.

Wish I had that enthusiasm the same way I had the that enthusiasm for super5 in your avatar. I have come around to at least respect his game for what it is, and that is win by whatever means necessary. Isn't the best arm, isn't the most accurate,  isn't the fastest....but wins 10+ games a year. If the defense tightens up, we definitely could be looking at another deep playoff run.

Ironically Jalen's is making the playoffs every year just like Donovan did and won a NFC Title and made it to the Super Bowl a little earlier than him too. He's on pace to surpass Donovan's 9-7 playoff record (He's 2-2 now) if he keeps this up.  But look he still is growing and has only been the starter for 3 Seasons.  I feel it's still very early.  Last year hopefully was more an anomaly not the norm.  It just felt like they didn't have any answers down the stretch.   I don't like the constant change in coordinators and jury is still out on how Kellen will do with our players vs Dallas.  But  I always felt if Donovan made it back to the Super Bowl we would win (Had they beat the Cards, I think they beat the Steelers in the Bowl that year).  I feel Jalen can do it if we can just get back.  It's very difficult to return to the Super Bowl.   The Chiefs and Pats made it look too easy.

I guess the difference for me was Donovan had an elite coach and he had elite traits minus elite focus.  We have elite talent around Jalen and he has elite focus, but not elite traits and definitely not elite an elite coach

I agree that the jury is still out on Siri because he lost control last season.   But he's also a young coach too.  I'm kind of giving them both some grace. But I agree with your point about Donovan having Andy.

I will admit to being the FIRST to count Hurts out. Now after contract, it's pulling back and seeing as a whole what needs to be done to be successful.  If he protects the ball and accounts for 32tds a year, he's done his part. Defense needs to get him the ball back a few more times,  and he needs to not hand it over. We also need some ball control. I remember in 22, it felt like we always had the ball

They also took forever to give McNabb elite receiver talent. Imagine what could have been if he weren’t throwing to the stiffs he had to throw to.

I think people really do fool themselves into thinking anyone can do what Hurts has done despite the fact everyone the Eagles have had to insert in this offense when Hurts couldn’t play didn’t get the job done. Sirianni has a losing record with quarterbacks not named Hurts. Hurts not having an elite arm is exaggerated. His completion percentage is above 63% for his career. The biggest issue is the turnovers. He can’t turn the ball over like he did last season. Hurts first four seasons are better than the majority of the Eagles modern day quarterbacks so far.

I think that's an andy reid thing. He's done the same to mahomes.

Even the ones that have worked out I feel weren't exactly on purpose lol

I have Jalen between 8-12th in the league so not many can do what he does year in, year out. With the talent on this team in a different scheme, maybe more can...but that isn't how this team is set up. As we are set up now, there are maybe 3-4 could do it just as good or better.

Jalen has more talent around him than any qb in eagles modern era as well. This roster is absolutely insane. It's not a knock on him, but it can't be ignored in that conversation

Well after watching QB2 and QB3 I don’t think QB1 has to worry about either of those two guys taking his job.

Hope you didnt invest any worry on this

McNabb is no Mahomes for sure. Should have given him some help earlier.

Nope. I’m sure others had hope in Pickett though.

But even with this roster other guys fail to consistently execute with it. Minshew had one game against the Jets and was pretty much mediocre afterwards.

Again, the way the team is schemed, I don't think more thank 3-4 could do better. If the team was ran more traditional, would be a few more, but I doubt more than 10-12. He belongs in this league and he is in the top 33%. Any argument against that is in bad faith at this point

He's not done. I think Hurts will go back to his 2022 form/success this year.  He has a ton of offensive talent around him and a proven OC.  Offensively, this team can go to the Super Bowl and he would be among the best to play here instantly.

I'm just not sure that the defense is good enough to support the offense.
