Saw this earlier today… May be old news but still goes to show the mindset of Hurts. And it all feeds in to the "can’t be great without the greatness of others” mindset of this team.

This was awesome to see. We're so lucky to have him as the Eagles QB. Let the rest of the world hate on him.

For those that didn't click/can't see Instagram.

His agent describes how Hurts said "Don't screw the team, make sure my team is around me." He was concerned about cap impact to the team and being able to pay teammates.

5 QBs in NFL History have averaged 2+ TDs per game in the regular season and the playoffs.

Brees

Rodgers

Hurts

Allen

Mahomes

Hurts averages 2.12 regular and 2.22 playoffs as a starter

Troy Aikman, who was actually carried by his team, averaged 1.05 regular and 1.60 playoffs

Young (1.92 both) and Montana (1.76 regular 2.04 playoffs) were both less productive at scoring in their offense than Hurts. (they relied more on other players to score rushing TDs)

Foles as an Eagle was around 1.88 and 2.17

McNabb was 1.72 and 1.75 as an Eagle (1.00 and N/A after Andy tossed the garbage)

Marino was 1.79 and 1.83

FWIW Brady missed out on being the 6th QB by 1 playoff TD. He is at 2.03 and 1.98

Marino was a god at 2.44 and 2.17 his first 5 years.

He was a sub-McNabian 1.51 and 1.67 after that

Mahomes was a god his first 5 years as a starter at 2.58 and 2.82

He is a McNabian 1.72 and 1.86 the last 2 seasons.

Note: The playoff 1.86 is with 2 garbage time SB TDs. Its 1.57 without those 2 meaningless scores.

Regular Season Record - One Score Games Where The Opponent Scores 23+

Mahomes 25-12

Hurts 10-5

Brady 43-32

Goff (Lions) 10-9

Stafford (Rams) 12-11

Montana 13-12

Dak 16-15

Foles 8-8

Purdy 4-4

Lamar 14-15

Peyton Manning 34-37

Rodgers 31-36-1

Eli Manning 27-37 (so many Eagles games, won the first 2 and lost most of the rest)

McNabb 11-16 (11-11 with Philly)

Tua 6-9

Marino 16-25

Allen 9-14

Herbert 11-18

Dalton 12-22-2

Aikman 6-11

Burrow 6-12

Minshew 3-6

Bortles 4-15 (the only QB I could find worse than Burrow)

FWIW, Hurts started out 0-3 and one of his 5 losses is the DC game where he got concussed.

He is 10-1 in these games when he plays the whole game since 11-14-21

For some strange reason his record is 42-11 over that period.

Apples to Apples: Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts faced the Chiefs twice in the playoffs, including 2 weeks apart in 2022. (calendar 2023)

2022:

Burrow 26-41 66.7% 270passing 1passTD 2 picks 6.6ypa 70.2 rating 4 runs 30 yards

300 combined yards with 1 TD and 2 turnovers 5 sacks -32 yards

Hurts 27-38 304 71.1% 1 TD 0 picks 8.0ypa 103.4 rating 15 runs 70 yards 3TD

374 combined yards with 4 TDs and 1 turnover 2 sacks -11 yards

Burrow 2021

23-38 250 66.7% 2 TDs 1 pick 6.45ypa 86.5 rating 5 runs 25 yards

275 combined yards with 2 TDs and 1 turnover 1 sack -7 yards

Hurts 2024

17-22 221 77.3% 2 TDs 1 pick 10.0 ypa 119.7 rating 11 runs 72 yards 1 TD

292 combined yards with 3 TDs and 1 turnover 2 sacks -11 yards

The weird part is how Burrow dominates the Chiefs in the regular season with the same O-lines but then is about NFL average in the playoffs vs them. Its not like 4 of his 5 playoff wins came when his defense held the other team under 20 points... oh, wait!

351 total yards and 3 TDs per regular season 127.5 rating - 1 turnover in 3 games

293 total yards and 2 TDs per playoff with a 78.3 rating - 3 turnovers in 2 games.

Hurts has led the Eagles to 30+ in 5 of 9 playoff games.

Burrow has never even hit 28 in 7 tries.

Lamar hit 34 one time and 28 one other time out of 8 games.

Josh Allen had 30+ in 5 of 13 and 29 in his "Not strong enough on 4th" AFCCG.

Mahomes had 30+ in 8 of his first 10 (that is nuts, put him in the Hall)

Mahomes hit 30+ in 2 of his last 11

Joe Flacco went 30+ in 5 of 10 games during his 24 TDs to 4 picks playoff peak

(2010-2014)

7 of those 10 were road games

2 were at Pittsburgh

3 were at Foxborough

The SB was vs a 2/3 ranked Fangio D

If Joe Burrow grows up to be Joe Flacco clutch then maybe he wins a SB.

Must be to stop the "Tanner McKee is a HOF quarterback and trade Hurts now!” nonsense we will see on social media and hear on the radio.

Well that escalated quickly

Now the brain-dead fools are putting Stafford ahead of Hurts.

Hurts had an off year in 2023, but he was still better than Stafford.

Hurts was MVP level in 2022. Stafford was mediocre then injured.

Hurts outplayed Stafford in just about every possible way last year.

TDs - Hurts 32 Stafford 20

Stafford 3808 total yards in 16 games. 238 per game

Hurts 3442 total yards in 15 games - 230 per game

The difference comes from Hurts getting hurt early vs DC. If you put in 14.5 for games played then Hurts is at 237.

Completion % Hurts 68.7 Stafford 65.8

Yards per pass Hurts 8.0 Stafford 7.3

TD% Hurts 5.0 Stafford 3.9

INT% Hurts 1.4 Stafford 1.5

Passer Rating: Hurts 103.7 Stafford 93.7

Stafford's passer rating over the last 3 seasons is 91.8 Hurts is at 97.2

League Average was 89.1, 89, and 92.3

Hurts has so much talent around him, its not fair! (say the people picking the Cowboys to win the division last year)

Stafford took over a Rams team that was 10-6 the year before with the 1 1 defense. He has the great Sean McVay!

Mahomes took over a team that was 10-6, he had Andy Reid (top 3 all-time) and has been with Spags since 2019.

Hurts took over a 4-11-1 team that was most famous for knocking the 6-10 Giants out of the playoffs.

Their coach got fired. They brough in a new HC / DC / OC

Hurts is going on OC #7 in the last 7 years and he is already a SB Legend at 27

The problem with judging Hurt's surrounding cast is you have to keep switching the criteria.

They have so many high draft picks in their front 7, its not fair!

OK, his O-line is just one 1st rounder, a 7th rounder, two 2nds, and a 3rd

AJ is not a 1st rounder, neither is Goedert.

Every RB and WR is judged on their stats. (except when using Philly weapons against Hurts)

AJ is not the top guy. He was not even top 5 in 2024. He was a 998 and 8 guy in Tennessee. I wonder if having an elite QB is helping him?

Is Devonta Smith top 15 in yards and TDs?

The Eagles WRs were 17th and 37th in yards in 2024. BEST WEAPONS!!!!

5th and 20th in 2023

4th and 9th in 2022 was very good.

Goedert?

94th, 58th, 68th in yards in 2024, 2023, 2022

So Hurts had a 2024 easy button by taking 83 total snaps together with the 17th, 37th, and 94th leading yardage pass catchers in 2024?

Its interesting that people can make the leap to know that AJ, Smith, and Goedert are better than their raw numbers based on scheme, usage, injuries, and blowouts...

but the same clowns can't take the next step to also apply that same understanding to Hurts.

Again, you have to change the rules in the middle of the equation in order for Hurts to not be elite.

BUT HE HAS SAQUON!!!

Hurts ran for

784 10

760 15

605 15

630 14

He had Saquon for only the last one.

Saquon is better here because of the coaching, the line, but also because of Hurts.

Ask Miles Sanders and D'Andre Smith

The 2022 Eagles ran for 77 yards a game when Hurts was out and 157 per game when he played.

The 2024 Eagles ran for 115 yards per game without Hurts and 188 with Hurts. * (this includes game 17 with backups)

The Eagles have run for 200+ in 22 Jalen Hurts starts and ZERO in the 5 games he did not start. They did it 3 more times in the playoffs.

They did this with Saquon on the other sideline in the 2022 playoffs.

They did this 5 times in 2021 when AJ, Saquon, Jurgens, Dickerson, and whoever started at the other guard spot in 2023-beyond was not on the team.

Joe Burrow was 21-32 for 188 yards and no TDs in the Super Bowl on merit: 81.25 rating, 65.6% , 5.9 yards per pass.

He also got to add on a 75 yard TD pass after Tee Higgins was clearly guilty of uncalled OPI and a facemask.

It was a very easy catch after Higgins threw Ramsey to the ground by his helmet.

Burrow sucked in that Super Bowl. The refs gave him a huge gift.

In the 3 biggest games of his professional life he had 1 nice 27 yard TD pass to Higgins over 2 defenders in a loss. (2023 AFCCG)

His big play in the AFCCG win was a 4 yard toss behind the line of scrimmage to Samaje Perine who ran through the defense for 46 yards.

The biggest play in that AFFCG win was the D stopping Hill at the 2 as time ran out in the first half. A 27-24 or 31-24 Chiefs win turned into 24-24 going to OT.

Burrow had a 7 yard pass, and 8 yard pass, and a -3 yard kneel on that OT drive. Mixon ran for 28 yards.

That OT drive started at the Cincy 45 after the D forced a turnover.

Weird how the guy with no defense can win like that.

Burrow is a 84.8 rated passer in those 3 games with the ref gift and 78.9 rated passer without the no-call facemask gift.

Elite! 🤣

Hurts has a 102.8 passer rating in the 4 biggest games of his life, then add on the 197 yards rushing and 8 rushing TDs.
