Never put to much stock in QBR, but for what it’s worth - Hurts was given a rating of 93.7. Second highest of his career. Dak - 58.7

I was one of those detractors and I was especially critical of him for a good portion of last season. Having said that, I’ve done a 180 on him and I firmly believe that he is the best QB for this system and he has a knack for making winning plays when they count the most.

At this point, I don’t know that I can name 4 better QB’s in the league for this team. I don’t know that Hurts skill set would necessarily translate into elite QB play on another team, but I also don’t know that other QB’s could be as successful in this system. He outplayed Mahomes in 2 Super Bowls, Joe Burrow puts up great stats, but the team doesn’t win. A case could be made for Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson in this system, but the fact remains, neither one have performed in the playoffs like Hurts. They also play in offensive schemes that are similar to eagles.

I think that Sirianni doesn’t work out in another organization, and I think that Hurts doesn’t necessarily translate to another coach and system. Hurts isn’t going to put up gaudy stats, but is there 1 QB in the league you trust more in this system when it counts.

Most of the QBs in the league aren't good. There's fewer really good QBs at the top, a few guys just after that tier and then a lot of average.

At this point we know what Hurts is. He won't have high passing numbers, he won't lead in passing stats. He's a winner, contributes greatly with running, and he shows up clutch in big games. The team have figured out a formula that is working with the run game, passing when needed and playing more efficiently. With the two WRs we have, we'd all like to see them used more. I think that's a goal for this year, which was seen last night. When teams focus on stopping Barkley, open up the pass like they did in the playoffs last year.

I'd also like to see more quick slants and getting the ball into Smitty and AJ's hands earlier. Let teams know that they aren't just decoys out there. Using Goedert is good, take advantage of matchups or he's your security blanket. But I do think they need to get AJ and Smitty involved early, which could help open up the run a bit more as well.

If hes Aikman who can run...so what? Id take that for the next 3 or 4 years...multiple rings and HoFer. Sign me up.

Some of these analysts don’t understand that you still convert a third and 6 if you scramble for 10 yards. Or that a rush push touchdown scores as many points as a back shoulder fade pass.

But, it's also Howie Roseman, the OLine, drafting well recently.

Sirianni? Not sure about that. But, having good coordinators? Maybe.

If Hurts needs to continuously prove it by winning, so be it.

I'll take another SB win over a stat champ.

Other teams lose players to injury, and those great QB’s are supposed to overcome.

If Jalen Hurts was to lose Barkley, AJ or Lane, a bunch or you would be screaming how can a QB be expected to win with these injuries.

Its turned into a why Hurts is better than most QBs thread.

Herbert had the game of his life on Thursday, good job! If he keeps it up and wins some playoff games he can join the conversation.

It also showed why Burrow sucks so much... he almost never runs.
