November 7, 20231 yr crappy news for Goedert. i felt like he was going to be huge for us & this stretch of games we are about to go through. hope for speedy recovery. but we will have to have albert o & stoll step up. maybe grant too when he comes back from injury.

DG is a very good TE, not a top tier but close to it. This year with Brown balling out he hasn't been much of a focus in the offense so they will probably be able to get by without him ok but there is a dropoff. It did seem to me that it was a pretty dirty play that caused the injury although that's typical cowgirl play over the years.

One thing I always liked about McNabb was that he seemed to get everybody involved --- even if they were trash. I'd like to see Hurts do that from time to time. Make the defense have to account for everybody as a viable target and things tend to open up. But in Sirianni's offense, I'm not sure he considers every eligible receiver to be a target on every play. He loves blocking and natural picks and all that --- in other words, I'm not sure it's Hurts as much as the offense itself.

The other issue is TE depth. Calcaterra has another concussion - and as @EazyEaglez points out above, he retired from college football 4 years ago due to concussions. He might never be back. So it's Stoll and the guy they got from Denver. Tough spot. Eh, I blame that on our offense. Put him with a QB that will air it out and look his way more often, and he'd be top 2 stats wise easy. You also have to factor in that he plays alongside Brown and Smith. I love Dallas, but he shouldn't get the ball more than those 2. The injuries are unfortunate, but the guy is legit imo.

It's easier to get more folks involved when everyone's average/trash except for 1 guy, lol.

Tackle was as dirty as the dude who kneed Kelce in the head. Dallas Cowboys a team full of B******. They were lining up offsides on defense all day too. Love how their fans are crying about the Refs. If not for the refs that last drive doesn't get to the Red zone in time to even give them a shot. The Dallas Cowboys. The only team in the NFL who will never receive more than a ONE STAR rating. F*** Dallas.

Remember that game when McNabb targets him deep and he literally moved out of the way so he wouldn't get hit. I think it was against Washington. But it was so long ago. I just remember him running away from the ball like a *****

We don’t know enough about the injury yet, but I’d guess he’ll be back in 4 to 6 weeks. This was not a "freak injury." Dude literally grabbed his forearm, dragged it around his torso and pulled Dallas to the ground while wrapping his arm under his body. It was a dirty play straight up. Cowboys played like that all day. See the knee to Kelces face. Another example. That football team is a joke. On that note can anyone capture and create a gif of Jason Kelce screaming in dudes face.

I know the defense gets a ton of credit during the McNabb era, but my goodness he doesn’t get enough respect for the trash he had to carry to the playoffs. Some of those names… He had Darnell Autry as a starting back at one time. 😂

November 12, 20231 yr I can never figure out how we made it to 3 championship games with no weapons except McNabb and maybe Chad Lewis. The NFC must have been really really bad back then.

What the Eagles do a lot of, that other teams don't really, is have the starting WRs and TEs play almost always. Over 90% for both Brown and Smith. Because they're playing so much, others aren't playing as much. I'm starting to think that, although better players are better, maybe the best players should rest up a bit so they can be 100% in the playoffs, maybe there are situations where star WRs like Smith shouldn't be in, like 4th Q, run, preserve the lead, run out the clock situations.

Eagles haven’t had a lot of those close out reserve players type games. Also the run game has struggled with Hurts injured and Jurgens out the lineup. Once they heal up some we could see some different results.

McNabb was money in the early 2000's, I'll not have a word said against him in that era, but towards the end he was a problem. I still remember in 2009 we went to the Jamarcus Raiders and he went sub 50% completion against the worst team in football at the time, with a wide receiver corps that had Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown as WR#4/5, it was like he hated the turf and just wanted to fire the ball into it. He spent years 'carrying bums' and then when he got Jackson and Maclin as a 1 2 punch with Avant in the slot he went to crap.

He looked so unprepared to play that football game. Three picks, puking in the huddle, it was terrible to watch. Somehow we only came up 3 points short. But what a mess that game was. Years later his alcohol issues have shed some light into his downfall. Guy just couldn't stay off the sauce.

To be fair to McNabb though, plenty of SB winners had godawful games, Elway absolutely stunk up the joint in 3 of his 5 appearances including one of the wins, Peyton Manning never played a genuinely good Superbowl, Denver won despite having Manning there. None of Roethlisberger's SB appearances were anything to write home about but his first was an absolute all timer of a stinker.

Mcnabb racked up 7 playoff wins pre-SB, but he really was a consistently bad playoff QB after that. He never recovered. Won 2 playoff games after that and was terrible in one of them. Mcnabb was fragile and that SB blow wrecked his head.
