Whelp. That was something.  Vegas reacted accordingly with the Eagles getting a field goal plus on the road next Sunday. Cowboys are 8-4 ATS and pose a formidable challenge.

Line: Cowboys -3.5
Total: 52.5
Moneyline: Cowboys -175/Eagles +146

This is the real test

Cowboys - 49

Eagles - 23

Cowboys -More than the Eagles.

Eagles - Less than the Cowboys.

Surprised its only 3.5

Oh welp there goes HFA

I’ve said it several times in a few previous posts and I remain firm in my belief that we’re gonna be 10-4 , and we end the season at 13-4 ( a better record than I had predicted at 12-5)  I hate to say this but there’s no way we’re beating Dallas in Dallas, and we’re most likely gonna lose in Seattle. It’s not the end of the world by any stretch, but it’s gonna be real close as to who wins this division.

F Dallas

We will lose to Arizona cause Gannon thinks its funny.

Since there is no prediction thread yet

This game has a Dak Prescott choke job written all over it in big block capitals

How they respond to that arsewhoopin' will speak volumes to what exactly this team is really made of.  Come out Sunday night and punch Dallas in the mouth and will consider that performance against SF a fluke and that we are a better team than what we showed.  If we come out flat (again) against Dallas and they whoop our butts too then I think it is safe to say that most of the concerns many were expressing all season (even while we were winning) were legit ... that the flawed process by which we were winning games would catch up to us against the better teams.  Flawed process meaning, offense looking like trash for 30 minutes, complete lack of creativity, horrible balance, basically relying on Hurts to bail them out every week to lead them to a W.

Was thinking along these same lines.....let's see what they do and how they respond....

I am going to be completely honest and go on the record here as saying I am part of the group that have had concerns for pretty much the entire season, feeling like we haven't been playing well (how we were 10-1 up through last weekend is mind-boggling) and kinda lucked our way into a few of those wins.  I think the offense is nowhere near the level it was last year (stats be damned) ... I think Steichen leaving is a big part of that.  To me the offense looks like it lacks any level of creativity, the play-calling is horrendous, the balance is out of whack, a lack of pre-snap motion to try to confuse defenses and get defenders out of position (something you see in SF and in Miami ... surprisingly led by McDaniel, a Shanahan disciple).  To me that is the biggest problem with this team (much more so than the defense ... I somewhat give that unit the benefit of the doubt because of the revolving door we've seen in the secondary and quite honestly a lack of legit NFL LBs).  Last year we'd rush out to huge leads early ... we're averaging 6.7 first half points the past 3 weeks (and for the season 12 first half points).

We keep hearing them say they are not playing up to "their standard".  What exactly is that standard?!  Perhaps it's not achievable with this combination of players and coaches. If they aren't playing up to their standard by week 13 I don't think it is going to kick in now.  If I'm being honest, I can't say I have a lot of confidence in this group to take care of business this Sunday.  I've always felt that these 2 games would be the most defining games of the schedule ... they failed miserably in game 1 ... not confident in the outcome of game 2.  I sure as hell hope they prove me wrong.

The sky gonna be falling around here come Monday morning.

@time2rock

Didn't want to quote the whole post but those are pretty much my sentiments. Many seem to think there is an over reaction to one blowout loss in a vacuum, but speaking for myself, that’s not the case. I get blowouts happen. For me, it’s the fact that in 12 games, they haven’t yet played a full 4 quarters. There are numerous problematic issues that seem to linger much of the season. The slow starts, the line giving up pressures and sacks, (though ironically, that actually seemed pretty good on Sunday), the negative side of the turnover differential, the defense that is just abysmal, and has been too much more lucky than good. I see a similar result on Sunday unfortunately. Seattle is iffy. They aren’t good, but they’re a demon we haven’t exorcised yet. I do expect us to win the final 3, but who is going to be shocked if an unknown like DeVito, and Kyler Murray and a bad Cardinals team makes those games a lot harder than they need to be? I sure won’t.

People don't like when you voice those kinds of concerns after a win.  They can continue to keep their heads buried in the sand and think everything is OK.  It isn't.  It hasn't been.  It is NOT an overreaction to the loss.  TBPH I had a bad feeling this was going to be the outcome.  I can only hope that the asskicking leads to a change in attitude and a changeup in playcalling.  Although I think the issues on offense go beyond playcalling ... play design in general is lacking creativity.  They are missing Steichen in much the same way we were missing Reich when he left (NOTE: not saying he was the brains behind the potent offense in 2017 but the combination of Doug, Reich, and Flip even - who also left after that season - worked so well together).

In addition, the defense is massively lacking talent. I’m good with the Leonard signing, but I think we need a lot more which isn’t coming this year.

Funny I was just thinking the same while reading about the Leonard signing.  Some people are going to think "that's it, that's the missing piece!".  I think he can help but am not optimistic it will change that much.  Like you said, we need more help than just having added him (and if we don't re-sign him we will have that hole to fill again as well).

On the flip side of everything I wrote in the previous 2 posts, I do think part of that asswhooping was related to having played 3 games in the past 13 days (while SF hadn't played a game in 10 days).  And in that last game our defense played a ridiculous 97 snaps.  They sure played like they were still exhausted on Sunday.

I don’t disagree that was part of it.

Another blowout incoming.

But maybe finally not playing in cold crappy weather will allow our offense to wake up.

So nice weather will make us less predictable

Totally and utterly agree with all of this.....

We won't blitz.  We won't press.  We will fall back into a soft zone and watch as receivers catch balls in front of us, behind us, to the left, to the right without challenge,

then our back 7 defender will think... now that I have successfully defended the turf in my zone maybe i should go tackle that guy

I think this team actually had been pretty good at tackling until last week.

I think whats more worrying is our run D seems to be falling apart, especially on the left side. Teams just run away from Reddick and no on else has stepped up.

It's down to Eagles +3 at even money at MGM. Don't be surprised to see the line drop as we get closer to kickoff. As of this morning, 80% of the money and 65% of the tickets are on the Eagles, so there's already downward pressure. If you like the Eagles with no vig, you might want to move.
