January 16, 20242 yr I really hope when reflecting on the season to determine if Sirianni should be fired or retained that Lurie looks at the 1-6 end to the season and weighs that more heavily than the 10-1 start (which now seems like a lifetime ago). Also take into consideration that many of those 6 losses we were blown out … some to crap teams like NY.

Brady is responsible for all of his success, so I hope the Eagles go another direction and hire a coach that's wasn't completely carried by one of the best QBs ever to play the game. I agree, but some of that is due to the humps he has been saddle with after Brady. Belicheat picked those humps though.

I think he will, people like to criticize Lurie but he is very aware of what goes on and wants to win. Last night he had to have noticed - or will be informed after if he doesn't hear the broadcast during the game - how the announcers were roasting the coaching. He will be aware of the national conversation destroying the coaches. Former great players like Joyner, Westbrook, Dawkins and national figures like Peyton Manning on the broadcast (at halftime I believe?) and others on Twitter just destroying how bad the coaching and schemes are. Remember: a couple years ago the same happened with Howie's drafting. Several broadcasts talked about Howie's drafting, not having Pro Bowl/All Pros drafted in a long time (some of them were drafted by Reid), putting up graphics on the screen to highlight it...then all of a sudden they started drafting from the SEC and more pro-ready schools. Lurie will make changes. I don't know if he actually fires Siri or gives him 1 more year but he will demand changes at coordinators.

Johnson and whoever was DC were the worst playcallers I’ve ever seen as a fan, and both happened in the same year Here’s you problem with just replacing his coordinators. They will be better than him. The team has no confidence in him and who is going to respect a coach who can’t coach? What good reason is there to bring Sirianni back?

They were woefully un-prepared for the entirely predictable Bucs pass rush. They could not convert 3rd downs. They allowed Baker Mayfield to look like Tom Brady out there. Our screen game was a disaster. They got run on for more than 100 yards. Offensive play calling looked desperate and unscripted (again). The one area that has not been a mess all season, Special Teams, looked lost out there. I mean, honestly, what exactly did they do to prepare for this game??

The thing is, changing coordinators does nothing if Sirianni continues to dictate the scheme on both sides of the ball (and you damn well better believe he does). The only way hiring new coordinators fixes anything is if he gives them full control over running their respective units … and each has to be a creative thinker to implement new wrinkles and get the most out of whatever talent they have.
January 16, 20242 yr We're not gonna have coaches out there looking for work like there is now. Huge reason I think to make a change. Screw Siri's record, I don't care. He didn't have it in him to get this team to not quit on him. Especially the QB, and we're not getting rid of him. Will be interesting to find out what the heck happened and what the owner does.

But see I think Lurie is aware of that and would tell Siri to let the coordinator do this thing like Steichen did. I mean most of us agree they should just fire Siri, but if he doesn't then he has to tell him he's on a short leash. Lurie's meeting with him this week - like he did with Doug before firing him - will probably be asking him what is your actual plan to fix this? He's had all season and wasn't able to fix it, and if it's the same answers then he's gone.
January 16, 20242 yr They must be in an extended meeting. Why haven't we got an official announcement yet?

January 16, 20242 yr NSFW language Fan throws popcorn at Siri, says "you're done." Security goes after him.
January 16, 20242 yr PLEASE...PLEASE....PLEASE don't keep Siri..........HEY SIRI, FIRE SIRI....Hurts had last year, and now it's ALL DOWNHILL.....Start looking Eagles, or you are in the same boat of mediocrity forever...Hurts looked like the most dis-interested player on the field, "What me worry?", I got my bucks
January 16, 20242 yr A top shelf Head Coach is supposed to be able to coach a bad team to being OK and an OK team to being a good team. Sirianni coached a good team into trash. Just FIRE the Intern already.

For all we know he could be just as frustrated as us fans with what he was told to do as HC. I think it's purely speculation at this point to say Siri lost the locker room. It could be the FO lost the entire locker room, including the coaches. Little will change if they just bring in another yes man that is just going to carry out marching orders from above. But if it was Siri largely pulling the strings then he must go. At this point I just think we don't know who is most responsible for this disaster of a season outside of some of Howie's personnel decisions on defense. The way I see it, if he stays then all blame should be directed at the FO. If he goes then either the FO is deflecting blame or Siri played a major role in the mismanaged this team. Its his system, if you can call it that. It's what most high schools run. I've never seen an offense this basic in the NFL. Not in the modern NFL anyway.
January 16, 20242 yr Days after final game of season Lurie has fired coaches: Kotite: 2 days (Black Monday, their final game was a Saturday) Rhodes: 1 day (Black Monday) Reid: 1 day (Black Monday) Chip: 5 days before the final game of the season Doug: 8 days (not Black Monday, the following Monday)

Lurie HAS to be weighing in his mind one of the most historical and worse collapses in Philadelphia history....everybody around the country saw it.....that HAS to be heavy on his mind this morning.....I personally have never seen anything like it in my life. They did the exact same things they did ALL season that never worked and yet even in a playoff game, they continued to do it....if that isn't the very definition of insanity, I have no idea what is..... When they showed Lurie in the box, he looked utterly disgusted....the offense was built to win NOW.....and now Kelce is retiring.....all of these things are juggling inside his head, I am almost sure of it....

January 16, 20242 yr If you're going to fire him, you'd better have a good replacement plan. Because they need a new OC & DC too.
