I was never on the fire Siri bandwagon until the last 7 games, from my view he has lost the locker room and when that happens you need to make a change. I haven’t seen such disinterested players in a long time, no fight, no passion and no heart, disgusting. Nothing tells me he’ll be able to win them back next year.

What about what AR did with KC? What about what Belechick did in NE after the Browns let him go? Tony Dungy from Bucs to Colts? There are definitely proof of going the other way too. I think for me, its the team being disinterested that really gets me. we were being outplayed by the giants and cardinals not because of talent but because of coaching. I think on this one we'll have to agree to disagree.

What did Andy do without Mahomes? What did Belichick do without Brady? What did Dungy do without Manning? Will we get a Tom Brady a Peyton Manning or a Patrick Mahomes for a potential new coach to live on?  To me, that's "2 in the bush" that you can't bank on.

Like I've acknowledged though, I know that I could be incorrect but I'm not one that wants to pull the trigger too quickly and I believe that this would be too quickly. But I also acknowledge the fact that I'm not in the building and don't know the behind the curtain goings on. Lurie could very well have 100% rock solid justification that I would be fully satisfied with (not that my satisfaction matters).

I'm just someone that doesn't like to jump too quickly, which yes, could lead to jumping too late. But I'm safe in the fact that it's not my decision, so I won't have to take any of the blame for being wrong lol.

having a decent QB definitely helps. I'm not saying Hurts is Brady or Manning but he is no Mac Jones or Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Shaun King either. At the end of the day we can only speculate but the "vibe" and appears in public TV shows a disinterested, disorganized, panicking team. The only reason this can be happen really has to be the fault of the head coach who preaches culture above all else.

Look how ridiculously empty the middle of the field is while the Eagles have two players running to the same basic location.

Johnson and Dilfer both won Super Bowls, but I get your sentiment. That said, the jury on Hurts is still out.

I hope that Lurie isn't so wishy-washy that he would fire his head coach after 3 winning seasons, 3 playoff seasons one of which was a Super Bowl season. Maybe retool, get better assistants, Frank Reich is out there, might he be good as an OC/Assistant HC?

Who might be out there for DC? Is Juan Castillo available?

Maybe Sirianni will need to be fired, but I'm not at the point of wanting to demand it and I'd be surprised... no, shocked, if Lurie would pull that trigger right now.

I think and hoping he will spend the next few days getting a pulse of the team relying on feedback from the leaders, Kelce, Cox, BG etc.  Then make a decision.  My biggest critique for Siri is that hes obviously not an X and O's guy.  Cannot design plays for squat and will rely on his OC to be creative etc.  if we get a real good OC and keep Siri, The OC will be gone in 2 years ala Steichen. Then we will be at square one. and then brings me to my other point What's Siri main role as HC?

lol i remember the johnson one and thinking wow you don't need a qb to win a superbowl lol

Nick may get a chance to correct HIS mistakes, but what I’ve been seeing from various analysts film study absolutely borders on incompetence. How in the hell can an NFL head coach be this bad? It’s also quite evident that his past coordinators were carrying him the entire time they were here. Now, he has wasted an entire season with a Super Bowl caliber team that fell completely apart down the stretch.

This is on him and nobody else.

I could be off base with this thought, but I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Frank back in (if he wanted to be an OC/AHC). There would be less danger of him being successful and then getting a HC job because of his HC history. Not impossible, but a little less likely.

Could he be successful again here as OC? I don't know.

It’s quite telling when media people are openly speaking out against a coach. WIP morning team started to talk about firing Sirianni a few weeks ago. Now we have National people saying it too. Calling him basically a high school coach is harsh. I also heard Spadaro last night on the radio and no he wasn’t openly stating that Sirianni is getting fired, but he was clearly pointing out how befuddling the team looked and acknowledged changes needed to be made.

I mean he would def be an option over what we have and we know hes not getting another HC gig anytime soon so he will be safe.  I think somone experienced like that would be a good call provided Siri can handle giving the keys to the OC and taking a step back like he obviously did with Steichen.

If Dave were to openly come out in favor of firing a coach, I'd have no choice/justification for having a different opinion lol. That would be an interesting thing to see happen.

I am a Frank Reich fan, have been since his days as a Terp (I'm a Terps fan from way back in the day). So I think that in the right place, he can be a really good HC. So if he were brought in, I could see him as a replacement for a point where Lurie would in fact pull that trigger on Sirianni. But like I said, I'm a Reich fan and would just like to see him succeed.

Dave didn’t say fire anyone really, but he acknowledged things needed to obviously change, but you know how he is most of the time.

Yeah, I'm just saying that if he did, then I wouldn't have a 'leg to stand on', not because Dave's opinion is the gold standard of opinions but because if HE'S coming out that way, then things are far beyond TATErgeddon,  the end of existence is upon us... lol

When the local media people started calling for Sirianni to be fired a few weeks ago (in particular the morning team on WIP) and knowing that stations affiliation with the Eagles it cemented in my mind what I had already suspected and that was Sirianni’s job was getting on the hot seat. Media people don’t start actively talk about a coach getting fired unless there’s some news leaking out of the Novacare Complex.

I don't really pay any attention to Sports Radio, or even music radio to be honest lol. I'll leave it up to Lurie. He knows better what's going on behind the scenes than any of us do. So if he fires him, I'll trust that there was ample just cause and not just a knee jerk response to a late season collapse.

Pretty much.

There was an immediate response to people saying that "Sirianni was untouchable due to the fact of going to the playoffs 3 seasons, Super Bowl, etc " that basically stated that "no one was safe if the team completely collapsed and basically got a 1st round exit in the playoffs” - which is exactly what ended up happening.

Had Sirianni somehow managed to regain team confidence, adjusted his game planning and had come out with a win in Tampa, good chance he would have saved his job - that clearly did not happen and were absolutely embarrassed last night.

It’s about the way they collapsed and the way they lost that will likely end his tenure here, imo.

I just hope they act swiftly here. Fire the man and move forward. We don’t need another Lurie/Howie overproduction. Come out with an interview then having him talk only to fire him right afterwards, and then Lurie having one of his pressers on why he did it. I don’t need another "open your heart speech.” Just get it done and don’t play games. Get a real head coach in here and not another plant.

I have a feeling that’s (more or less) what will happen this go around.

This is definitely not a knee jerk reaction. The locker room has had issues longer than this collapse. I just worry about the process. Will there be another process of taking months while all the best candidates get hired and we get stuck with yet another WR coach being touted as a head coach again or will they go out and quickly get a viable option?

I really do hope they don’t mess around this time.
