January 18, 20242 yr I can't believe this clown is coming back after being a joke and getting blown out by bad teams. What an awful move. Get ready for a 3-14 season next year.
January 18, 20242 yr I am fine with Nick coming back. There is enough that has to be addressed from a player perspective, blowing everything up doesn't seem prudent.
January 18, 20242 yr Head scratcher on that one after how bad the offensive play calling was in the last 7 weeks.

January 18, 20242 yr I don't think this necessarily means he's keeping his job. Could just mean he's looking for replacements to bring to Lurie. He has to find out who will work under him when Patricia/Desai and Brian are fired Howie could be overseeing it or looking to see who is available for when Nick is fired

Plenty of blame to go around. Get 2 legit coordinators who have some experience that weren't picked off a JV coaching squad and go into next year with Siri as HC. Let's see how QB1 plays next season with someone who will coach him instead of being a lifelong friend
January 18, 20242 yr Obviously the Eagles rely on and consult analytics to prepare for game decisions, but if they relied completely on analytics, they would always go for the two-point conversion over kicking extra points. So clearly it isn't all analytics with them. An argument can be made that it still may be more influential than some fans believe. When Sirianni was hired, he was touted as a coach not married to a "system," but instead a coach that believed in designing a scheme around the players' strengths. I believe he did do that in 2021. It took him a few weeks to get a feel for what we could do, but we did adapt to schemes that fit our personnel. What is weird, though is that we seemed to get away from that quite often in 2023. I think they were allowing generalized (or generic) analytics to sway them away from the things this team was better at. So is that what happened and is it Sirianni or someone above him forcing the issue?

So...wouldn't analytics tell them it's not working? There have been so many videos and breakdowns online this year showing awful mistakes the Eagles are making that include stats that show where they're failing. So it's hard to reconcile this idea that they are driven by analytics...if that were the case then why wouldn't the analytics drive them to call plays to Hurts strengths? To dial up plays to adjust to the blitz? To throw shorter passes in slants and the middle of the field? To bench Bradberry since teams target him and have more success throwing to who he's covering than others? There are analytics that show what the Eagles are doing wrong and should be done differently, so how are they being run by analytics? I think they utilize analytics for things like going for it on 4th down and such. But offensively it seems they're ignoring analytics (like Hurts success throwing in the middle of the field) and just expecting Hurts to chuck it to the playmakers and they'll make a play. You know what? I stand corrected on this and maybe shouldn't have said "entirely" on statistics and analytics. What I DO think is that they are using statistics that show the overall formula for success and ignoring other aspects.... Sidenote: I DESPISED statistics in college....

Nick is an offensive Head Coach when the play calling is bad for a few weeks, he should've taken over the play calling especially for the playoffs. The buck stops with him, but GM Howie agrees with you I guess.

Friends yes, but Jalen doesn’t like his offensive scheme for sure. also while we think about all of this - people wonder if BJ is the problem why didn’t nick change him instead of Desai. I’ve been thinking about that all day and I’ve come to this conclusion….nick is adamant that it’s his offense, but knows he’s not a good play caller which is the reason he gave it up last year so if he changes BJ and they still struggle, it make him look worse and he’s more likely to get fired, so he changes the DC. Fair? No, but in one hand I respect him more for knowing his own weaknesses and that’s what good leaders do, they surround themselves with smarter people. I think he got pressured by Lurie and Roseman to make that change. Simple as that. The offense set records this year despite all we complain about. At some point the chain of command got blurred. That part is on Nick. But firing him I don’t think is logical or the right decision.

January 18, 20242 yr So funny. If they fire him, everyone freaks out because they didn't hire a new coach immediately after the firing and then are convinced that its a franchise no one wants to work for and that the best options would go anywhere but here....
