That, plus the coaching and schemes were hurting a lot of players, a bunch of players regressed.  When veteran star players are getting too many penalties, fumbles, etc. the team is a mess and that's on coaching.  All the young guys shouldn't be judged yet, they've all showed potential and need better coaching.

All of young guys need time. Look at Kelce and BG. They weren't good early in their career. Good thing they weren't quick to toss them aside.

Kelce actually became starter as a rookie and never looked back.  But yes BG took some years. They don't like to give rookies many snaps other than for injury.

I agree that the line looked highly overrated this year.  Some of that is the lack of a run game and constant pass blocking they don’t get to tee off on anyone and are constantly backpedaling.  There’s a lot to be said for allowing the line to fire off the ball and wear out a D Line too.  But Kelce is cooked, love him but he’s past his prime by a lot.  Lane is not far behind him IMO. He may have whatever PFF score you wanna dig up but the eye test says it all.

need some new fresh bodies along that line.

We need to see how Jurgens plays at center which is the position he was drafted for. I don't think you can fully judge him when he is playing out of his natural position.

Fair enough.  He's got some big shoes to fill.

The Oline had a lot of critical penalties in this game that coast them and it’s happened all year. Guys running into one another on offense and defense is a sign that these guys lack continuity from practicing together. The fundamental mistakes are mental mistakes. Mialata jumping offsides off a Hurts hard count? I mean these guys don’t even hike the ball until the guard slaps the center so what gives? Guys illegally downfield in a game multiple times? It’s obvious they’re not practicing the plays they’re installing otherwise players wouldn’t be making those types of mistakes. This all comes back to the head coach.

Stoutland seems to be untouchable even though the Oline hasn't been good for a lot of the season. Plus he's the run game coordinator

I think the problem with the running game are the RBs, they're 3rd tier RBs.

In the Tampa game , Tampa would consistently crowd the box, and we would constantly be one defender short. Instead of going heavy on protection, coaches were deliberately trying to kill Hurts. And on top of that call for long bombs, while Hurts was running for his life. Criminal neglect. Clean house time.

Yep. Kelce was pretty poor for a couple seasons. He was a weakness on the oline. Patience.

True that. Fire everyone. Keep Stoutland

I think it’s the playcalling. Runs are not going anywhere because defenses figured out Johnson’s 1 page playbook and know exactly when and where the runs are going.

Let's see ...

Last year our featured HB went to the Pro Bowl averaging 4.9 ypc. He went to the panthers this season and averaged 3.3 ypc. This year our featured HB is going to the Pro Bowl (averaging 4.6 ypc). Our short yardage run game has been more dominant than any other team over the last 2 seasons.

When it comes to pass protection, the line seems to be holding up. Teams usually have to blitz to create pressure and then any failures that result are usually due to deficiencies in the play design or poor execution by either the QB or a player responsible for picking up a blitz.

It is frustrating to have such a good offensive line and not get the expected results. IMO, it seems to be the play-calls and scheme that are most at fault.
