Everyone complaining about him being overpaid. My thoughts on that are.... it ISN'T YOUR MONEY, so why do you complain about it??  🤣
Good signing. More holes to fill, but we still have $$ and the draft.

Because we care about the team...

I have always loved Saquon ... been following him since his HS days since he is local to me (and then as a Penn State fan I was thrilled when he signed).  BUT ... I just don't think this is a wise investment.  I would have sooner drafted someone like Corum and used the cap $ elsewhere (DE ... done, LB, S).

Who says we can't draft Corum

Too much money too many years.  Departing from their normal protocols and it won’t end well.

Truly hope he can stay healthy. Don’t want to see a full year of Gainwell cause he’s hurt.

Love the signing but hopefully the offense gets more innovative. The Giants did a very good job at lining him up in different positions to get him into open space. He lines up at WR quite a bit. Would love to see us do something similar.

It should with Kellen Moore taking over the reins from BJ

Totally out of character to pay a RB this much money.  He deserves every penny he can get, but I don't like tying up so much cap money into a RB.  There are more pressing needs with the team that they could have spent that money on.

Yes!

And also yeesh!

A ton of $ for an RB. Are philosophies changing inside the Novacare Complex?? Hmmmmmmmm???

Maybe they will next spend $$ for a.................................LB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven’t had a special talent at RB in quite some time.  We went from Westbrook to McCoy, and since Shady’s departure, there’s not been a real game changer at the position.  If you look at the Eagles win rate on run blocking, it’s hard to fathom that Barkley won’t have more success than Swift last season and Sanders the years before.  And he should perform exponentially better than he did running behind the dumpster fire in NY.  To me, this is a move that maybe signals a sea change in the coaching philosophy.  Jalen Hurts CANNOT be the primary threat on the ground if you want him to stay healthy.  And Swift wasn’t consistently good even with an o line that was consistently at the top of the league in win rate on running plays.

That would be an awesome move.  Sign Saquon and draft Corum.

Great signing. But Howie needs to concentrate on Defense. Especially at Safety and LB.

No matter how good the Ofense may be, we can't win a SB with this defense. It's defense that wins championships.

The Eagles don't run the ball enough for them to pay an everydown back.

So in a matter of 12-13 months, the Eagles let former Penn St. RB Miles Sanders walk, and pick up his star teammate, no. 2 overall pick, Saquon Barkley.  I know a few Giant fans who are ready to puke with that one.

Yep and they are on Giants Twitter.

HUGE upgrade for the Eagles.  With the threats the Eagles have on offense, Barkley is going to be under far less pressure here.

That doesn't change the fact former Giants GM Dave Gettleman, trying to win Eli Manning one final championship, should NEVER have taken Saquon with the #2 pick. Running backs simply are no longer taken that high up.

That move I think helps both the Eagles and Giants as the Giants were able to get Devin Singletary for $16 Million or so and have some cap maneuverability as well.

Saquan also is a threat to catch out of the backfield.  That is the part everyone forgets.

You wouldn’t know this news if you went to their official home page

Really liked Jordan Hicks (even though he was injured too much). Bradham was fine too. But true, LB (followed by RB) was the position we invested the least in for sure. Most successful teams went that route though.

But in a Fangio scheme I can’t help but feel that’s going to be majorly exposed.

I agree, I wasn't impressed with Barkley at Penn State, he was shutdown in every big game they played.

Whaaaaa?  Respectfully, I watched every PS game when Barkley was there and this simply is not correct.  In the Rose Bowl against USC, alone, he ran for 200 and had 50 receiving yards.  I'd say that was a pretty high profile game.

The Eagles led the way in bottoning out running back prices... now Howie is using his hedge fund managing skills to turn  the market the other way  .. keep your eye on Dallas ... I expect to be entertained

Wow, this is a huge shocker.   I really can't believe Saquon really came over the minute the free agency started.    Behind our line, he should be very productive.   Howie really broke the bank too, 3 years?  This is surprising news.

Ok now let get some lbs and a safety in the draft.  Because if the defense does what it did last year we’re still Fed.

I'm here for it

I know he's a different style of back, but I would have preferred to keep Swift

Looking in my crystal ball:

When the contract details become known it will look a lot better for us. Always does with Roseman contracts. Chill..

We know the details. $26 million guaranteed when he signs Wednesday. One of the largest RB contracts in NFL history.

Any way you slice it Howie is all in on this deal.
