April 30, 20241 yr Summary bullet points: Wants to retire an Eagle Says he signed this extension because is career took off here. Why did it take off? The support of the team Why sign here? Support, family (Jalen, Smitty others) Happy for Smitty, glad he got his deal, loves playing alongside him (fans said he would be jealous and want to be traded) Why do he and Smitty work well together? Work with someone you love and help support each other Impressions of Saquon: working hard, pushing teammates in the weight room, excited to see that, sees him as a leader already Significance of being the highest paid WR? Nothing. Have to prove it. On paper means nothing, have to prove it on the field On playing in Philly: this is home, there will be good days and bad days but this is home, I've been loving it. The best town there is. The support is through the roof. Away games feel like home games. On media speculating he wanted out: can't control what other people say He's been watching film and taking notes on things he wants to improve, wants to gain an edge to always improve. Some guys go out to party on Fri or Sat night, but he's working out, trying to get better.

April 30, 20241 yr AJ and Smith will retire as Eagles. They will both end up being the best WRs in Eagles history
April 30, 20241 yr Stupid signing. Awful person, terrible teammate and just a horrible WR. Great job, Howie!! 🤪

Over the next 3 years, Jalen, AJ and Smith combined will take up the following cap % 2024: 13% 2025: 17.25% 2026: 28% Keep in mind the 25 and 26 percentages will be a bit lower because it only assumes about a 6%/year increase in the total cap. Thank you for clarifying the mathematics. When I look at Over the cap in 2025 I get 19% for Hurts, AJ, and Smith. There are better investments than concentrate so much $$$$$ in the 3 players. I would have extended only one WR instead of both, and used the left over money to sign some freaken quality LBs.

That's b/c OTC does not yet count the 2024 "carry forward" amount to the 2025 team cap amount. Assuming no other big moves (i.e. extending Milton Williams) this year and after factoring in the approximately $9-10M in 2024 cap space that will be needed for rookies & practice squad players, and the post 6/1 releases of Cox and Fletch, they're going to carry over anywhere between $15-20M into next year's cap. As to using AJ $ for LB's I disagree. First, if you're spending for LBs in FA, that means you're likely overpaying for average players who are not going to catapult you to winning a Super Bowl. Whereas having Jalen, AJ and Devonta in place for their prime, it always gives you a chance to win it so long as you are have an above average OL, are competent at drafting and have some luck.

I understand your point..and agree with it. Subconsciously I was afraid of AJ reaction to Smith being extended, Prior to AJ being extended too. Now that AJ was also extended..this fear is mute.
