  • SPECIALISTS (3):  Jake Elliott, Rick Lovato, Braden Mann

22 on offense, 28 on defense, 3 specialists.

11 is an awful lot of DBs ... I suspect they are trying to trade one or more of those guys, and then they'll add a TE and someone else on offense.

My biggest surprise McMahon and Toth are both one - figured one would make the roster, probably McMahon. Who is the back-up centre? Guessing they plan on Dickerson.

Holding onto McCollum probably points to what we all think - they plan on trading Bradberry. 5 S and 6 CB is an awful lot (with Brown still to come later in the year). Particularly when multiple of our S can also back-up the slot positions.

Wish we kept McMahon, Jenkins and Burks and cut Bradberry, Ricks and Kinnard.

I imagine they're planning to get some of them back tomorrow.

Howie risks losing McMahon to try and get a 7th round pick for Bradberry who should have been released after we couldn’t deal him at the draft.

I think they will make waiver claims or signings that would have sent McMahon to waivers and they probably wanted to know if he'd pass through sooner.

I can’t imagine anyone giving us a 7th for Bradberry. First, he sucks. Second, he makes too much.

He would only cost the team trading for him 1.3 million. Eagles already ate most of his contract.

They went really light on several positions so we’ll see how it all plays out.

A third TE will be added and Tuipuloto will get cut.  And then our roster is set going into game 1.

That's one suck butt, salad tossing, roster.

I agree - a long time coming after the draft.

Yeah - at least Burks and Jenkins, maybe McMahon, but he will stick on the PS.

Got to give Howie his props for that. He definitely worked his magic figuring that one out.

We are going to score 59 points a game.  We are ok.

The surprising cuts are on the O Line, I though McMahon as Center and Toth's versatility in pre season would have seen them stick ahead of Fred Johnson, especially with Becton and Steen available to back up at Tackle.

I don't have an issue with 11 DB's given the rate we've gone through them the last few years.

I see the Giants cut Stoll so I expect him to turn up at TE3 at some point, maybe someone like Samaje Perine for RB3/4?

Who are the inactives with this initial 53 for Game 1? I'm thinking
-McKee - Emergency QB
-Keegan - Only plays 1 position. Dickerson slides to C and Steen goes to LG if Jurgens goes down.
-Wilson - No ST upside. If one of the WRs gets hurt, Covey becomes WR3 and they'll be using Calcaterra as the slot in many sets
-Hunt - Though I wouldn't be shocked if Nolan Smith was inactive in his place
-DeJean - Still working his way back from injury. If they think he's healthy enough, Ricks would be inactive.
-Bradberry - Doubt he's still on the team by Game 1. Plus McCollum and Maddox would be back up safeties before him and have more ST upsdie.

He was a 6th rounder. Those guys get cut and make it on to practice squads all the time. I think we'll be OK.

tldr; Not a single offensive skill position, who made a catch or a run, in Saturdays pre-season, made the roster. QBs aside.

Youtube TV in my area had the third preseason game playing on a 4 hour delay. So Saturday at game time I was disappointed, but it's preseason, so I can get over not watching it live. So I avoided watching any scores and four hours later I tune in to start watching it, as advertised, and it's playing the darn Jets game. While I'm scrambling to find when a replay is playing so I don't miss it, I see the score. Such an exciting score. Yeah, it's preseason and a meaningless game. So, for the first time in years, I decide, I'll just miss this game.

Last night, I'm craving football and I check to see when it's going to replay and it had recorded again earlier in the day. Score aside, I figure I'll throw it on in the background while I'm doing other stuff. Other stuff quickly turned into watching the game. It was not exciting by any means but, hey, it's the Eagles. I'm watching the game, and every time I hear somebody on offense made a play, I quickly realize, that person got cut earlier in the day. Then it became a thing. I started cross referencing every single play to see if they made the team. Long story short, no one who showed up in the box score with either a run or a catch made the roster outside the QB's. The defense was hit or miss, I'm guessing because they have to rotate more players to keep them fresh.

You could argue that Ainias Smith "made" the roster, albeit on Injured Reserve. It might be a weak argument but at least you could make it.

We'll see, I expect McMahon and/or Toth back on the practice squad. Toth has one very compelling benefit to me. He can play all 5 OL positions. Perhaps not well but the Eagles could dress one guy to cover all the Oline positions without playing musical chairs.  If an Oline starter is out for an extended period look for somebody better for that position.

So was Prince Tega Wanogho.

First time since 2011 Kelce isn't on the 53 and 2012 for Cox.

Time flies man.
