This smells of being a money move in part.  Tuipulotu was on the last year of his rookie contract.  Young has a couple of years to go.

I think that certainly plays a part.  But I also think Howie has been focused recently on adding players drafted fairly high (rds 1-3) recently, and also players from the better programs like Alabama (where Young went), Georgia, etc.

So Marlon Tuipulotu went from making the 53 man roster to not even being on the practice squad but Gabe Hall is...

EDIT:  Nevermind.  I saw the Chiefs signed him to their practice squad.  Good for him.

The Eagles made a flurry of practice squad transactions on Tuesday and one of them was bringing in former third-round pick Danny Gray.

Here’s a recap of the moves:

Signed: WR Danny Gray, DB A.J. Woods

Released: LB Brandon Smith, WR Griffin Hebert

In addition to these moves, the Eagles are also losing 2024 sixth-round center Dylan McMahon. The Rams are signing McMahon to their 53-man roster from the Eagles’ practice squad. So there’s one spot still open on the practice squad.

One other practice squad note: Former Eagles cornerback Zech McPhearson signed to the Jaguars practice squad. McPhearson was a fourth-round pick out of Texas Tech in 2021. He was released at final cuts this summer after recovering from an Achilles tear that took away his 2023 season.

uggh..AJ Woods , another tiny CB..but Howie goes through them like tic-tacs so I don't think he'll be here long.

A curious couple roster moves late Wednesday afternoon, with the Eagles releasing tight end Jack Stoll – who they just signed to the practice squad 14 days ago – and re-signing safety Caden Sterns – who they just released from the practice squad 10 days ago.

Covey placed on IR.  Still signed to 53 man roster to take his spot and John Ross signed to the practice squad to fill Stoll’s vacant spot.

Damn that’s a real blow to lose Covey. So which WR features more than Dotson now? Wilson, Campbell or Ross?

Hopefully Dotson.  He has been in the league for a couple of years and we did just surrender a 3rd rd pick for him.  But gut says Campbell will have the better stat line this week.

No that’s what I’m saying bud… Based on how it’s gone so far it won’t be Dotson 😂.

I'll be surprised if Smith isn't cleared before the game. Obviously the team has to prepare for the event he isn't cleared.

They did release JT Woods from the practice squad as well ... I would assume to create an opening for Campbell.

I would imagine that's the plan and if they do, they'd be able to elevate him 3 more times.
