We could really use a thread where people can just ask general questions and get advice from others. Who to pick up, who to drop, who to play, etc.

I will start. I'm in a 12 team PPR $ league and I love my WR's, TE's, and QB is adequate.

QB - Daniels, Goff

WR - Amon-Ra, Kupp, Godwin, Cooper, Brian Thomas Jr.

TE - Kelce, Parkinson

RB on the other hand is rough. Ken Walker, Aaron Jones, Zamir White, Javonte Williams, Zach Charbonnet. There isn't much out on the waiver wire. Best guys are Justice Hill, Tank Bigsby, Jaylen Wright, Braelon Allen, Marshawn Lloyd. I'm trying to move Cooper for a RB but after a bad week 1 and his QB continuing to be a fraud I haven't had any luck. Any advice or insights would be cool. I'm heavily leaning towards dropping Williams for a stash/potential league winner like Bigsby or Wright. Denver's offense is awful and I don't see Williams ever being anything more than a committee back with McLaughlin. White concerns me too but not as much and I want to see how he does for another 2-3 weeks. Sooner or later I'm going to have to find a trade.

I actually have Aaron Jones and Zamir White.  I took running backs later after getting WRs and a QB (and one auto-draft of a WR when I lost my connection in a remote area).  I also took Najee Harris.

I think White could be a decent RB.  I took him over a couple other RBs in a middle round, hoping that he would get some good points as Jacobs' replacement.

I got Trey Benson and Marshawn Lloyd.  Both are rookies and I am hoping one of them may be a surprise.  I am fine with letting Lloyd go if I need another kicker or defense.  I actually think Trey Benson may get some playing time later in the year.  I just don't see James Conner being a fantasy stud, and Benson would compliment him, or replace him as the breadwinner for Arizona.

I actually need help with my WRs.  They are great: CeeDee Lamb, Michael Pittman, Marvin Harrison Jr, and Xavier Worthy.

However, I lost my first game because I started Harrison over Worthy.  So now I am trying to figure out if I should bench Harrison or Worthy for this week (or Pittman?  Or Lamb?).

I drafted White and then like 2 days later news came out that he will likely be in a full blown committee <_<

While he did out touch Mattison 13-5 in week 1, Mattison had 6 targets to his 2.  What's even more concerning though, Mattison greatly out snapped him with 36 snaps (60%) to White's 23 (38%).  My buyers remorse has only gotten worse so I really hope you are right.

I am hoping that as a 2022 draft pick, he has some upside and growth in him.

On another note, should I start Marvin Harrison or Xavier Worthy?

Only one thread? We have an entire Topic for fantasy football advice!

If I suggest one, take the other one. I always miss on the "who to start" questions.  Schmoopie doesn't bother to ask me anymore

One more thought.... and I wish I considered this during the draft.

It's the Raiders.  They won't be playing with a comfortable lead 95% of the time and will be playing catch up the majority.  They will need a back that can catch\pass block and Mattison has proven he is much better in that area.  Thus the increased usage last week.

Ken Walker and Aaron Jones are a fine duo. IMHO the entire RB position as a whole is pretty mediocre after Barkley, Hall, and Robinson (and CMC after he heals). If Walker doesn't play, I'd just use Charbonnet as his handcuff. Hill might have some value in PPR leagues catching passes but he will be unreliable week-to-week.

I like his skillset and I think he has the stuff to be a 3-down RB. But I don't know if he takes the job this year or next. He's nothing but a stash at this point.

Lamb is a must-start. Don't be silly. But I am a bit more worried about Pittman and Harrison. So I think I'd actually bench Pittman right now because Richardson looked really shaky last week. Harrison against the Rams at home doesn't faze me. I feel like he's ready for a big bounce back. But Worthy doesn't get a lot of targets. He has big play/big bust potential. Be careful.

Lamb is obvious, but you never know if there's a week when he doesn't make sense, or someone says to bench him and then we all know not to pay attention to that guy.

Worthy could be boom or bust, but I also wonder if he quickly becomes Mahomes' primary WR target if he does well in the open field.

Pittman was an auto-draft pick while I lost cell phone reception, so I would not have taken him if I could've helped it.  I wanted a running back at the time.  So I am open to benching him if needed.

White looked like absolute trash. Borderline droppable. I think his only good run resulted in a lost fumble

If Hill is available I'd be tempted to drop White for him. The Ravens were playing catchup and Hill was really effective as a pass catcher. I'd think that they're going to run the ball more so his usage will drop, but he could have an okay floor if he carves out the role as a pass catching back

I just traded Zamir White and Chris Godwin for James Conner and then picked up Diontae Johnson.

Updated depth chart:

RB

Ken Walker, James Conner, Aaron Jones, Javonte Williams, Zach Charbonnet

WR

Amon-Ra. St. Brown, Cooper Kupp, Amari Cooper, Diontae Johnson, Brian Thomas JR.

Assuming Walker doesn't play on Sunday I'm going to bring in Justice Hill and I might end up keeping him over Javonte.

It was BAD last week for MHJ. Not only were the numbers and lack of targets bad, but I saw a few people talk about watching the all22 and he just didn't look explosive or create much separation.

I won't tell you who to play because I have a 50% chance of being wrong but I personally would play Worthy and if it doesn't work out you went with the most logical decision.

I went with Marvin Harrison, thinking they would specifically target him after basically nothing last week.  That worked out well.  Pittman was my flex and Worthy was on the bench.  My problem was Harrison and CeeDee Lamb were the only people that really gave me any fantasy points, and I got blown out.

Looked like a juggernaut this weekend.  9 for 24 good for 2.7 ypc and 3 catches for 14 yards.

And now I don't know what to make of Mattison, who I picked up in the league I drafted White.  No catches.  4 rushes for 1 yard.  But did vulture a TD.  Kill me.

I was flicking between the early games for around a half. Mattison had one run for -2 yards on a 3rd and long draw. Then Abdullah had a bunch of random inefficient touches while he sat on the bench. I thought he was injured initially before he scored that 2nd half TD. I'd be curious to see the snap percentage they all played, but they have 0 RB's I'd want on my roster (and I have Mattison) or are even worth risking as starters.

Yeah. Just total avoid the Raiders RB situation. They suck. I suppose Zamir White gets one more chance against a lousy Carolina defense this week. If he can't do it against the Panthers, he's drop city.

Tonight, pick one combo:

Stevenson & Jets Defense or Hall & Patriots Defense.

I'd go with Pats and Hall. Brissett is good at limiting turnovers so I don't know if the Jets D will get a ton of turnovers. They were stingy in the run game last week allowing 2.4 ypc. I'd almost be tempted to take Pats and Stevenson if possible. The Jets were destroyed by Jordan Mason week 1 and have allowed 3 TD's on the ground over both games

WARNING - @Agent23 SIZED POST INCOMING TO EXPLAIN THIS LEAGUE/COMPETITION

I'm in a salary cap competition where you have X amount of dollars and have to field a team through the season with X amount of trades, max of two per week and you get 4 boosts to user through the year for an extra trade that week. If you can finish 1st overall at the end of the season out of everyone that enters, you win $500. Players aren't only available to one team, if you can afford them in your salary cap and structure, everyone can have Lamb at WR, Barkley at RB, Hurts at QB etc. You want to sell high and buy low on players to try and bank money while they change in price. Rookies tend to be bargain basement along with guys that were injured last year, barely played or scored poorly. It works similar to most Daily Fantasy games where the price changes through the year and you have to hit on cheap guys as well as more expensive dudes. The difference is they don't exit your line-up the following week unless you trade them

You start 2 QB's, 4 RB's, 6 WR,s 2 TE's, 1 K and 1 D/ST. You also have 1 bench QB slot, 2 bench RB slots, 2 bench WR slots, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 D/ST.

You can set a captain that scores double points and a vice captain that will score double if your captain doesn't play. If you have a guy that doesn't play on field your lowest scoring player on the bench at that position comes on. So you can get a scrub kicker that will never play and put a good one on the bench to get two shots at the double points.

Right now I have the following team

QB: Hurts, Daniels - Williams
RB: Hall, Taylor, Barkley, Cook - Dowdle, Mason
WR: Hill, Lamb, St Brown, Jefferson, Kupp, Nabers - Harrison Jr., Coleman
TE: McBride, Kincaid - Bowers
K: Scrub - Karty
D/ST: Seahawks - 49'ers.

Last week I used an early boost to trade out McCaffrey, White and Odunze for Kupp, Barkley and Mason. It sucks because if I had seen that McCaffrey was out I could have made the swap to Mason in week 1 before they played. Kupp ended up injuring himself, but the trades worked out because I finished 30th for the week.

This week I am trying to work out what trades I make. Prices change after 3 games played and change based on a rolling 3 game average. Now is the time to grab guys that are about to rise in price if possible. So for example Darnold is bargain basement price and the 10th highest rated QB. He would be an obvious swap for Williams who is more expensive and the 31st ranked QB in the scoring.

Kupp is injured and I'm tempted to swap him out to Brian Thomas Jr to bank the cash, get the price rise from Thomas and have him sit on my bench with Harrison Jr. moving to the field. The other options around the same price are Worthy, Johnston, McConkey, Nailor and Jennings now that Deebo is injured.

I am thinking of using a boost and turning Dowdle into Kamara. The Cowboys backfield looks a mess, Kamara is about to sky rocket in price and plays the Eagles who can't stop the run at all. It would leave me with about 10k which is barely any cash and this line-up.

QB: Hurts, Daniels - Darnold
RB: Hall, Kamara, Barkley, Cook - Taylor, Mason
WR: Hill, Lamb, St Brown, Jefferson, Harrison Jr., Nabers - Thomas Jr., Coleman
TE: McBride, Kincaid - Bowers
K: Scrub - Karty
D/ST: Seahawks - 49'ers.

The fact that Taylor gets moved to the bench makes it a bit redundant and a waste of dollars. The other players to consider trading would be Hill now that Tua is on IR, Kincaid since he has been awful or turn Karty into Bates.

If this makes sense to anyone, any thoughts?

@paco I feel like this version of the game would be up your alley.

I don't get it. Don't they cancel each other out?

Take Hall because he is potentially the highest scorer, and I guess the Pats D go with him.

No.
The Cowboys RB situation is close to 50-50 split. Dowdle is unplayable unless Zeke is out and vice versa. If you can still get Kamara at the season opener price, now is the time to go out and grab him. TE is a wasteland. Yes you can do better but is it worth burning a trade?
