Flyers d is a bunch of steaming hot garbage. Their inability to clear a puck never ceases to amaze me. They sure like to fumble ef that puck. Another goal given up the last minute of a period. I've lost count how many times that has happened these playoffs.

I guess you could argue that Sanheim had the puck and got his arm pulled down while circling which led to the turnover right to Barzal's stick...

But why bother.

Honestly I’d clear cap space so that i could get pietrangelo. It would’ve prevented at least 3 goals in this series. 

Four goals allowed and I can’t even be mad at Hart. It would be much worse if he didn’t make some incredible saves. 

This is a good team with incompetent leadership.

The defense is way too slow moving the puck; seems to me Ghost should be in there instead of Hagg.  Braun has been awful as well — just too slow.

It’s tough when you have a young defense corps and your two veteran guys, Braun and Niskanen, are playing like garbage

The fact that they benched ghost after two of his best games is baffling. Don’t get me wrong, he hasn’t been perfect but his defensive game has been on par with braun and hagg and has shown bursts of offense that this team could desperately use. 

It’s also ridiculous that the NHL is miles behind the NFL in reviewing scoring plays.  Tonight’s goal was valid, but the other two Islanders goals were total BS and neither should have counted.  There’s no way a team should be put short handed numerous times because the on-ice officials can’t get it right.  To make it worse, the off-ice guys blew the call where Barzal was in the crease.

Just review scoring plays like a professional sports league 

I said last game that Ghost should be playing. Not because he’s very good, because he isn’t, but he was solid in the couple games he played and sure as hell was better than the garbage we are seeing from the rest of the defensemen tonight. 
 

Let’s be honest though, how many really thought at the start of the season that this team was really a contender? I felt like they were still a year away. One more year of growth for the young guys like Konecny, and hopefully one more scorer and defenseman added in the offseason.

True enough — but they should be a better team than the Islanders, who are a bubble playoff team.  They got two sweetheart matchups against non-contenders by getting the #1 seed — and haven’t looked great in either series 

Yea, in that respect I think VA has done an amazing job.

We absolutely need to trim this roster and get rid of a lot of the older players.

Yeah, but the fact that they have struggled against Montreal and the islanders is a bit concerning. Look if they got manhandled by the lightning, sure. But they are playing poorly against the 12 seed who were sellers at the deadline and an islanders team who, while good defensively, should not be able to dominate offensively. 

Guess my superstition strategy didn't work tonight.  Just checked the box score and see it's 4-3 Isles after 2 and that they scored to take the lead with only 30 seconds left in the period.  That's an unforgivable sin, that is.  Also see shots are 28-13 in favour of the Isles so guess they have pretty much dominated play while we have taken our limited chances well to score 3 on 13 shots.  Also sounds like from reading some of the posts that Hart is playing well enough, but the D isn't giving him any help.  

At this point, have to hope that somehow we just get 1 while keeping them off the board and take it to OT where anything can happen.  Maybe getting it to OT will be some wind in the Flyers' sails while the Isles will feel a bit frustrated and we'll catch them in a moment of doubt.

Yes but the Islanders were red hot coming into this series. 

Man, that crowd noise sounds like a window air conditioner.

I still think Voracek is due for one. He played pretty well last game and in the first couple periods of this one. I think there’s a good chance he nets one. Only problem is will the defense hand it right back.
